  4. Time to pack up and get back to Texas!
  5. Ted, You guys are truly seperating the men from the boys, but if that's you in the red toboggan, that's not a smile. That's an 'I'm freezing my a$$ off and I want my gloves now' look. :jester:

Eddie, Good to here from you. I trust you and the Atom are sitll burning up the twisties at Hallett and Eagles Canyon.
  8. When is the last time you saw this? Last night in the small town of Hooks, TX, just west of Texarkana on I-30.

  10. Croc, Thanks for posting. The Westfield Seight's V8 and hood scoop are going well with my morning coffee. And I really like the Marcos Mantis sitting next to the 80's era Cat (shown in a couple of photos in the add). Mike, I hope you don't have too bad a case of 'grout' this morning. :jester:
  11. Brit, Shame on you. You purchase all those goodies and then mention the mfg. without including a link where we might contemplate trying to outspend you. :toetap05:
  12. Brilliant indeed! I wonder if Porker drivers the world over are drooling at the possibilities.
  13. Fascinating! Thanks for sharing. Leaves me with a couple of questions regarding long-term exposure to fuel and continued fuel migration toward the pickup during sustained low-fuel, high-g load situations; example, the bowl at NJMP Lightning.
  14. The color complements the car perfectly.
  15. I knew when I referenced 'ball testing' that . . . . :banghead:
  16. Well, I called the Whiffle Ball folks in Connecticut and the 4x4 folks at Alltech Motorsports. The Whiffle balls are made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and the Alltech hollow cylindrical baffles are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Chinese Whiffle balls are mostly ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic and should not be used. Further research ‘suggests’ that HPDE would be the preferred baffling material, when compared with using LDPE, due to its superior resistance to gasoline. However, Whiffle is sending me some balls for testing. I’ve included a couple of photo excerpts from a chemical resistance chart regarding LDPE’s resistance to gasoline. If I do anything other than foam, it'll be the Alltech baffles. I'll leave the 'wife' ball jokes for Croc.
  17. I looked into the pellets, but the price was the deal killer.
  18. I don't feel so bad about dinner now . . . . I should have ordered a bigger steak! Hey, be thankful spell choke didn't correct to 'wipe', 'whip', 'sniff', 'whisker', 'whisper' or 'wiggle'; this conversation may have run in a whole different direction. :smilielol5: You mean there's suppose to be a discussion about chores prior to? :svengo: Did I just hijack my own thread? . . . . .
  19. And yet another thread for consideration: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/miscellaneous/1097875-alltechs-4x4-fuel-cell-baffles.html
  20. Evolving from WIFFLE balls to . . . . . http://www.alltechmotorsports.com/
  21. Supposedly very easy to install and, if made of PVC (thus sayeth research) the balls won't break down and deteriorate. Again, I’m soliciting opinion (and hopefully, someone else’s experience) regarding using the WIFFLEs. My interest is less than 24-hours old.
  22. It's there . . . you just have to read between the lies . . . and spell check. :jester:
  23. Mike, Thanks! I'll buy you a drink later today.
  24. Mike, I ran across that same discussion earlier tonight. The consensus seems to be that WIFFLE ball material needs to be PVC in order to prevent their breaking down when exposed to fuel. The primary reason for my wanting to use a foam (or other product) is to prevent sloshing. I have no clue as to the WIFFLE ball's level of protection if rear ended. Here’s a few more threads: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/desert-racing/822130-best-foam-wiffle-balls-fuel-cells.html http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/desert-racing/817329-wiffle-balls-bitd-koh-approved.html http://www.spudfiles.com/spudtech_archive/viewtopic.php?t=7896 Has your foam arrived?
  25. I've been looking at/researching ideas/options for my RCI fuel cell. I'm not totally sold on using foam for my application. Tonight, as my neighbor was assisting me with a few odds and ends on the Storker, he mentioned his having heard of folks using wiffle balls as baffles. I later ran across this and am soliciting your thoughts: http://shop.ctstore.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=70 . . . . .
