It looks a lot more professional than my card board insulation installation. My 2003 has the same type of heater as yours and it leaks very little hot air into the car. But the 2009 has the round blower heater and a lot more hot air comes thorough.

Is the Hill Country Tour still on? -
I confessed that I have participated in the Cash for Clunkers program. I traded in one of my Ford F150 field trucks for a Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota gets 4 mpg more than the Ford with 190,000 miles. I paid cash so there is no worry about missing car payments.

The mechanic who maintains my company vehicles for more than 20 years offers his point of view from a small auto repair business perspective: 1. The people who were driving clunkers can not afford to buy new cars. This is the reason that they are driving clunkers. 2. These same people who are driving shiny new cars now will discover the joy of car payment and insurance premium. The full coverage on a new car is considerable more than the minimum coverage on a clunker. 3. So, after a few months of stretching their budget to make payments, these new car owners will skip and the cars will be repossessed by the lenders. Does it sound familiar? 4. At the same time, the small business auto repair shops will be struggling to survive because the clunkers that they have been repairing have been crushed. 5. The demand for independent auto repair shops will be further reduced because all these 700,000 shiny new cars have 3 to 4 years warranty. 6. My mechanic is now down to an one man operation. He has to lay off his helpers because his steady customers no longer need him to keep their clunkers on the road.

You may want to keep the CR500 if you are going to use the 048 on the street. The 048has a treadwear of 60. You may get 5,000 to 6,000 street miles if you don't go to the track. The 048 is heavy in comparison to the CR500. By the way, the CR500 has a treadwear of 20.

can you check the date of the tires? The following is a writeup I found on the internet: DETERMINING TIRE DATE CODES How old are the tires on your vehicle? The date of manufacture is indicated by the last group of digits in the DOT manufacture code on the sidewall of the tire. The number is often stamped in a recessed rectangle. The DOT code tells who manufactured the tire, where it was made and when. The last group of digits in the code is the date code that tells when the tire was made. Before 2000, the date code had three digits. Since 2000, it has had four. The first two digits are the week of the year (01 = the first week of January). The third digit (for tires made before 2000) is the year (1 = 1991). For most tires made after 2000, the third and fourth digits are the year (04 = 2004). In the photo above, the date code is 8PY806. The 8PY is a manufacturing shift code, and the date the tire was actually made was 0806, which is the 8th week (08)in the year 2006 (06). The date of manufacture is essential information for car owners and tire buyers because tires deteriorate even if they are not used. European automobile manufacturers recommend replacing ANY tire that is more than six (6) years old, including the spare tire. No such recommendations have yet been made by domestic vehicle manufacturers.

The Caterham dealer put in Castrol GTX 20W50 on the standard Zetec and Castrol Full Synthetic 10W30 on the SVT Zetec. Both cars run fine, although the standard Zetec's tappets are a little noisy when first started.

Thank you for everyo one's assistance, I have purchased an orange Haulmark V-nose 7x14 Low Hauler. The dealer is adding 4 D-rings and a spare tire. The Caterham is ready to hit the road. No place is too far now.

My 2009 Caterham has a leak from the bell housing. Apparently there were some bad batches of bell housing from the Caterham supplier. It was fixed by the dealer during the build.

Nice setup -
I am planning to add 2 D-rings at the V-nose and 2 D-rings at the back per your picture.
-
http://www.raceramps.com This is advertised in the September issue of the SCCA magazine SportsCar
-
I am going to have the dealer add D-rings at the back similar to the pictures from Skip and Slomove instead of e-track.
-
Thank you for your inputs. I am looking forward to have the trailer ready for fall. Now I have to go practice backing up a trailer.

Ken and I went to the Haulmark dealer today (Ken has both a Zetec and a Fireblade Caterham) to check out the Low Hauler trailers. The Edge has better trims and hardwares. The V-nose has more storage space. I decided on the V-nose. Now I need some help on the tie downs from Skip or Drew. Can you send me a picture and location of your tie downs so I can have the dealer duplicate your system? I have been thinking about the E-track but I don't know where to mount it or is it really necessary. I also need to learn where are the tie down points on a Caterham and the method of doing it properly. Another question: is a spare tire necessary on a dual axl trailer? The Seven is so light that the trailer should be able to handle the load if one tire goes flat. Since space is at a premium inside and there is no place to mount a spare tire on a V-nose outside, it would be nice to save the space for a set of slicks instead.

The receiver on the 2008 Landcruiser is within the bumper. It is 23 inch from the ground to the top of the 2 inch square hole.
-
Skip - the Haulmark brochure shows the hitch height from the top of the ball is 14 inch. The other trailer manufacturers show 16 to 18 inch. This must require a deep drop hitch to make the trailer level. How do you manage on your truck? Another spec I noticed is the rear platform height is 11 inch. The other manufacturers have 15 to 16 inch. Do you have issue dragging the back at driveways?
-
Three "yes" for the Hallmark Low Hauler, therefore I am going to take that route. There is a dealer located 200 miles away with two orange 7x14 in stock. One is the V-nose and the other one is the Edge. The Edge is $ 500 more with LED lights and fancy wheels.
-
Skip, is that a come along in the v-nose to pull the SV in the trailer?
-
Thank you for the good information. Since the Haulmark trailer works on Skip's SV, it should be a perfect fit for my SV's. It is great to have a first hand report from a satisfied user.

I am looking to buy a trailer for the Caterham. The game plan is a 7 x 14 low profile dual axle enclosed motorcycle trailer. The more I look and the more undecided I become due to data overload. Questions: 1. Any advantage in having a beaver tail? 2. Any one has experience with a fiberglass trailer? Chariot Trailer has a low profile 16 foot fiberglass motorcycle trailer that is very light weight in comparison to a regular trailer. http://chariotmanufacturing.com/gallery.asp 3. Is a V-nose a big improvement over a box front? The tow vehicle is a Toyota Landcruiser. 4. I like the Montrose trailer but they are located in Michigan. The shipping cost to Houston makes it economically not feasible. Is there another manufacturer in the southern part of USA? 5. The trailer needs to be as low as possible because it will be stored in the second story of a three story garage. It seems like a low profile trailer is about 82 inch tall. Does any one know a manufacturer makes one lower?

Both of my Caterham oversteer at the limit. They should not plow at all. Either there is something wrong with the suspension or the tire pressure is not right.
