Most likely the switch is bad. It is not uncommon on a Caterham because the switch is a cheap plastic POS. The ignition needs to be "on". I have replaced the switch on all three of my Caterham.
Ask for stoplight switch for a 1978 Jeep CJ at Autozone. It is a bit long requires a little bending of the terminal.

I agreed with BlueMax. The cost depends on the degree of paint and finish you desired. Another consideration is the amount of labor involved to take apart the car for painting and re-assemble the car afterward. My R300 was raw aluminum with carbon fiber wings. The cost of clear coat the wings was part of the paint job. The dollars added up pretty quick.
There are about 15 Seven in the Houston area. A couple of the Caterham owners are very mechanical inclined and knowledgeable on the bits and pieces of the little cars. Lotus Owners of South Texas has a monthly meeting this Saturday 11 am 4/16/16 at Phoenix on Westheimer. http://phoenixow.com/, Join their Facebook and Yahoo site for information. https://www.facebook.com/groups/118370430602/, https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/lotus_ownerssouthtexas/info.
The JPE yellow is my R300. The Stalker is for sale. Rene removed the face shield on her helmet because she was complaining about wind lifting her helmet off her head.
Lotus Owner South Texas (LOST) had a track day on 11/14/15 at Grandsport Speedway in Hitchcock, Texas. Pictures were taken by a Caterham owner.

An enclosed trailer provides security from prying eyes to allow peaceful sleep at strange motels. Double axles provides redundancy in the event of a flat tire and the additional stability in strong cross winds. My trailer has traveled from Texas to Canada. Your Tundra mileage will be in the 10 to 11 mpg range if it has the same 5.7 liter V-8 as my Landcruiser.
I had the opportunity to meet Johnty during the USA2005 event. Several of us were helping the early arrival Brits getting their Seven ready for the trip in a warehouse near the Houston airport. Johnty was a real gentleman.
