  1. Mate , it looks like your an Aussie already ! Noosa point , mid week , toes on the nose. doesn't get much better. Tim
  2. A "virtual" masterpiece.
  3. Oh well there you go! You may has well have been driving a Hummer! Actually the half doors are my next mod. I think the brooklands with the half doors will be the best combination for me.
  4. Interesting you say that Alaskossie. Are you used to a screen with wind deflectors attached to the sides or just a screen? Did you have a play with the angle of the brooklands? Makes a big difference to me. Need to get that sweet spot of the air just clearing your head. half inch too low and it will take your cap off. I find the angle where the screens actually look cool is not enough. You need to go a little higher where they appear to be a little too upright.
  5. Wrap arounds for me also. I have some Rudy Project magster that came with several lenses including clear. Plus a spare pair of cheap safety glasses for passengers. I dont even reverse out of the garage without them on. I do find the Brooklands to be more comfortable than just a normal windscreen and feels like i have 50 more hp.
  6. Hey , thats me ! Shot was taken on a gopro hd pre dawn and i was only doing about 35mph or so to prevent camera shake. I have tried to get the same shot on the new 11mp go pro and i just cant get it right yet. More shots on my link below. Tim
  7. I think of a "7" as being a Lotus 7 inspired ultralite fantastic handling giant beater and staying true to Chapmans design ideas. "Simplicate, then add lightness" and "Adding power makes you faster on the straights, while subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere." That thing is HUGE! Does it seriously have an Automatic gearbox???
  8. The way these cars vibrate many things just shake loose. I use some bright paint to mark the position of many of my suspension bolts so that at every fuel stop i can just run my eyes over everything. Also i carry a few spare nuts and bolts of the most common sizes. Failing that....cable ties and gaffa tape.

    New 7

Now thats the best looking 7 i have seen for a while. Loverly! Would love to see some more pics under the skin etc Tim
  10. Touring aside , I would love a BDA engine in my car. Would have no hope passing emissions though, Just the sound of the thing. Couldn't care less about lap times or 0-60 etc. Just the sound would keep a smile on my face. Failing that a Caterham BDR would be cool. I think i really need 2, 7's. Wild and Mild
  11. How can they give a Patent for a curved Mirror?? If you are near a car with one of these stay well clear as they will only see you as a speck in the distance.

    Morgan 3 wheeler

"Better" , define better. I bought my 7 for the raw driving experience and feel of speed. I don't think the Mog would let itself down in that regard. My only problem with the vid is the lack of eye protection. I don't even turn the key unless i have something on.

    Hot Feet

Don't under estimate how hot a Gearbox will get. I use ZIRCOFLEX as used by F1 on the tunnel. And also a gearbox oil cooler. Made a difference. Backward facing vents on the side of the car at the rear of the engine bay will help in getting air out also.
  14. Looks like you think the same as me. As a photographer also i'm always looking for ways to make things better. Like your setup but the exposure variation across the image looks strange. Like you had the filter at an angle? Would love to hear your thoughts.. Flare is what i'm battling. Maybe a grad is what i'm after. Regards Tim
  15. Well , i'm putting my money on thermostat. I had a very similar problem with a BMW once. Had flow but not enough. The thermostat was not opening fully. I had the fan wires bridged to run them on full and still overheated. Its the cheapest thing in the whole system to replace (unless its a BMW). You say you havnt as yet run it without the thermostat in the housing?? Try this first before touching the water pump.
  16. Its a PRB. Made in Sydney Australia to closely resemble the Lotus 7 in proportion. It uses honeycomb aluminium in the main tub for stiffness , 20 valve 1.6 lit engine thats offset toward the passenger for weight distribution and weighs 649 kg or 1430 pound with me plus a tank of fuel. Great fun and I love it! The system i want to use for the brooklands is to make an alloy strap with the mirrors and screens permanently attached. Then its just 4 bolts and 5min to change over. I actually don't like the brooklands and may change to the caterham lexan ones. They will fit my scuttle with maybe a little help from a heat gun. There are more pics in the link below but you may have to go back a few pages. Tim
  17. Spot on with the location. Early morning run in this car is fun no matter where it is. Actually it was the first drive after re building several things so just wanted a short cruise to make sure nothing fell off. A lap of the city was quite good fun .
  18. New paint! http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f108/timphoto83ec/PRB102ANGLE-1.jpg
  19. With many people these days obsessed with bigger wheels and rubber band tires its getting harder to find the smaller sizes. Yoko still make them. Although i'm in Australia I get my Tires from Demon Tweeks in the UK. Searching the U S sites found nothing. Price including shipping was still cheaper than what i could get them for at home and to my door within 4 days including a weekend. AO48's are 60 series where the Avon are 55 http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/competition-tyres
  20. Just look up BRM 16
  21. Out here in Aus basically if it has a steering wheel instead of handlebars and you sit in it rather than on it , its a car. Being then a car it has to pass all the legalities of other cars . Noise etc with is WAY harder than a bike. We had 1 Triking come into the country back in the 80's and I think that was it!! Very sad really. And annoying when you hear a new Harley go past thats loud enough to have me taken off the road if it was my car.
  22. ACE wanted to use a Guzzi V twin like the "Triking" from the UK but was having troubles getting them. When you start digging with these cycle cars there are some fantastic creations. Personally i liked the Triking with a 4 cam Guzzi 1100 supercharged engine.. You would never keep it straight. Google "Triking" and then hit "images". You will be there for ages. Cafe racer for those who don't want a bike.
  23. Not a Morgan but an ACE . American Cycle Car Endeavor. And yes a Harley Engine. The cars are made in Seattle. They have some sort of licensing agreement with Morgan and somewhere I read where Morgan were basing their new 3 wheeler on the ACE which was based on their old 3 wheeler !!?? Too confusing Need to read up on that one. Great car though . Always loved them.
