I hope everything is ok with her now ... Again John made the weekend extra special to all of us who were visiting ... His tour of underground Barber was great! They can make and do everything there .. except paint the cars .. due to building design .. .. although it is his job to work at the Barber .. (ho-hum) .. He got the Lotus XI running around the track .. just another day at his day job .. He did mention that one of the mechanics tweaked something .. and the XI is running better than ever! I just dropped my jaw when I saw it out! THANKS JOHN! Plus John's girlfriend is a hoot and kept us laughing the whole time. BTW: I think I visited that Museum for a total of 6 hours all weekend. I had to keep going back to look at more and more. Rob

Getting ready for the breakfast run over to 29 Dreams Motorcycle Retreat east of Bir'. I'm having a blast meeting new people .. not just 7s folk .. but all car owners at Sportscars in the Park .. The Barber alone is worth the visit .. museum .. grounds and track! John has gone out of his way to make everyone welcome. Thanks John! (and his girlfriend too!) I'm having a blast! Rob

I did some finishing on the Rotus yesterday (Friday) morning and got on the road early afternoon on my way to Bir'. Rotus held the road pretty well .. although I-20 is not that great of a trek! Nice to see several sevens as I arrived at Barber. First familiar face was Al saying Hi. I got there just in time for the underground tour hosted by John. Then on to the Quality Inn where the British guys and girls hosted a pizza beer social time. Great first night for me! Rob Mitchell

Now that I have my car on the road . .. again .. it's time for some drives around Atlanta .. so I look forward to organizing those .. As far as being a Treasurer .. I'm an honest guy .. As I (and most) can afford to have one of these cars) there should be no fear of embezzeling from the firm Of course if someone else has a greater desire to be Treasurer .. that's OK with me .. I just think it's time that I give something to the organization .. and I think that I can commit to being Treasurer. A friend and I finished mounting my new Caterham Leather Seats in the Rotus yesterday. I had already spoken with Ian Crawford and his father about their experience with their Rotus so I had an idea .. I bought steel bars and cut to length and bolted four bars to the bottom of the car. Then my friend and I welded grade 8 bolts to the four seat runners, bolted them back to the seats ... Finally we drilled holes to fit through the aluminum floor and through the bars to mount. Now I have adjustable leather seats and removable headrests. (for now I've abandoned the idea of installing the seat heaters under the leather.) Rob

UPS packaged a like new pair of leather Caterham seats .. for shipment to me. Instead of putting packaging between the two seats .. all they did was Ducktape the two together (like two spoons) .. Well the runners of the inside seat cut into the leather of the other Now all I hear from the claims department is delay tactics .. I hate UPS .. Rob PS: The topic is UPS .. so why does the software automatically make it lower case??
