Current Caterham fuel systems are electronically regulated. The large sender assembly in new tanks anticipates the presence of the regulator module. We would need to do a bit of digging, but it's possible that the pre-2015 sender (still large diameter) would utilize a standard external regulator, thus allowing you to use one of the newer large-sender tanks. CSR and older Caterham sender configurations are problematic, as the sender unit is unobtainium. If you had an older standard tank, we could provide an uprated pump for that, which would basically just install into the sender. -Bruce

FS: New 2019 Caterham 310 S kit, SV, Ballistic Orange
BruceBe replied to BruceBe's topic in Cars For Sale
This kit is now about a week away from being shipped to our facility. If anyone is interested, and would like this kit diverted to their door, now is the time... -
We have a new 2019 Caterham 310S SV kit, in Ballistic Orange on the way. It is available, and should be arriving to our facility in the next 30-45 days. Alternatively, we can have the kit shipped directly to the new owner rather than us, potentially saving on shipping time/cost. The latter option is time-sensitive, as we have been informed that the kit is ready for pickup at the factory. Nominally, the 310 is about 155HP - building upon the 280 1.6L Sigma platform with a more aggressive cam profile for better dynamic performance at higher RPM. Here are the particulars: 310 S package (full weather equipment, road suspension, polished exhaust, carpeted interior, heater, etc) SV Chassis 15" Orcus Silver wheels w/Avon ZZS Momo QR wheel Aero fuel filler - black Spare wheel tire/carrier Ballistic Orange Painted "7" grill in Ballistic Orange Triple black stripe and lettering 1.6L engine w/5sp gearbox Please PM if interested - the jungle drums are beating about a Brexit deal, and it's already had a slightly unfavorable impact on the GBP/USD exchange rate. Anyone managed to contact Beachman lately?
BruceBe replied to xflow7's topic in General Sevens Discussion
David - all *is* good. Thanks for your persistence in getting an invoice :-) You have email. A three-week track tour, followed by back-to-back race weekends with Sevens has us a bit backed-up on paperwork. -Bruce -
With ongoing discussions with Thunderhill, the logistics have changed a bit. Track rental rates have us moving the 2-mile day to 4/18, 8am-1pm - hot track the entire time. The 3-mile rental wasn't feasible. If anyone is interested in joining us on 4/18, we can accommodate a few more participants. -Bruce
-
Just wanted to point everyone to a post in the Pacific regional forum, about potential track time at Thunderhill. Go check it out. Cheers, -Bruce
-
Hello all, We're organizing a track tour for clients, and are looking at a couple days of Thunderhill, 4/17-4/18. Tentatively, it would the 2-mile track (Thunderhill West) on the first day, and the 3-mile on the second day. We'll likely have at least three Sevens, an SP/300.R, and a couple of other well-driven GT cars. A couple of members here joined us last time, and I believe a good time was had by all. So - who would be up for it? Vroom, vroom. -Bruce

Caterham rear uprated brake kit rotor needed
BruceBe replied to Kitcat's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
The AP part number is specific to Caterham, and AP does not separately offer them for sale. This is the case with many AP-sourced Caterham parts (e.g CSR slave cylinder parts; pressure plate and clutch discs; etc) I suppose you could pull the one "good" rotor, and measure hub diameter, hat height, OD, and thickness. Then start rummaging around. We should have these things in a couple of weeks. -Bruce -
We're attempting to track down the following Caterham Sevens sold into the USA (last 5-digits of VIN) 70783 71034 71032 71233 71234 71236 71499 These vehicles were manufactured between May 2013 and April 2014. As a Caterham dealer, we've been asked to help locate the owners. Please contact us directly, at info@beachmanracing.com. Cheers, -Bruce

Quick bump to let everyone know that this kit remains available. We're having a bit of nice weather here in the Pacific Northwest, and the phone is starting to ring :-) Cheers, -Bruce
-
Yes - several remain available, in blue, red, and yellow. Best, -Bruce
-
Mike is correct - the pound has been favorable, but slowly creeping upward. Since this kit is in-stock and on the ground at our facility, the pricing is reflective of that favorable exchange rate. The kit price is inclusive of powertrain. Cheers, -Bruce
-
Thanks Lucky Dawg - this is actually a 360 *kit*, and is in-stock and available. You can find the posting in Cars For Sale here -Bruce

Hi, In kit form, this particular car is in the mid $45K range, inclusive of powertrain. While we are about to revisit our pricing structure on professional assembly services, currently, we charge $5K for kit assembly on a wet-sump configuration, which this particular car is. I would budget between $2500-3500 for paint. Shoot me a PM or e-mail, and we can get into more of the nitty-gritty. Best, -Bruce

Currently, production lead-time for Caterham Sevens is pushed out to 2019 for Rollers, and early summer 2018 for kits. However, we do have *one* Caterham Seven 360 SV kit floating across the pond right now. We should have it in our hands sometime over the next 2-3 weeks. Configuration: Kit - 360, SV chassis 180HP/5-speed Quad piston front calipers and ventilated rotors Momo QR steering wheel Carbon dash Heater Fully carpeted interior Lowered floors Leather seats Full windscreen and weather gear 15" Orcus wheels/ZZS tyres Silver aero filler cap Black pack Unpainted aluminum skin, w/black nosecone/wings As this is an uncommitted kit, we brought it over unpainted - we can paint the Seven to buyer's specification at additional cost. We also offer assembly services, for those that want to skip the DIY aspects. Vroom, vroom -Bruce

I'm sure we can come up with at least another 6-10 participants through our client network. We've just placed five new cars into the area this year, and we're not done yet. To maximize interest, I recommend a tour AND a track day - two to three days in length. Pick a track like Oregon Raceway Park, and you can bookend a tour that takes you through the PNW wine country. This would make it easier for folks from both sides of the mountains to participate, and lure those in Oregon as well. Just a thought. The Ridge works as well, but, the weather over there can be unpredictable and extreme - even during the summer. -Bruce

So, tell us a little about yourselves
BruceBe replied to slngsht's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I doubt you would regret an S3 or SV chassis Caterham Seven. The IRS of the CSR gives it ultimately more composure at the *absolute* limit, and it is an incremental step forward for the marque. However, the model has now not been in production for quite some time, and I still do not have a timeline from the UK for a re-introduction of the chassis. We have a nicely-optioned 360 SV S-pack kit, that is not yet spoken for, and has been in production for a couple of weeks. Realistically, we will have this kit in-hand and ready for assembly around mid-October, and a completed vehicle could be in a customer's hands before EOY. A very, very special Christmas/Holiday celebration, for sure. Best, -Bruce -
Right - but we're talking about a 5V regulator in this case. Cheers, -Bruce
-
Modern voltage regulators do a very good job of providing stable voltage for a range of input. -Bruce

After enjoying the best sales year in 2-decades, Caterham is now sitting on a production backlog of nearly a year. Orders for "roller" versions of the Seven will not be fulfilled until 2018, and kit allocations are all but gone for 2017 as well. We've had a potential buyer back-out of a kit order with us, after funds have been committed to secure the production slot, which is week 32 of 2017. It's quite unusual for a buyer to back-out, but that's a story for another day. If a Caterham is in your future, send a PM, and we can configure the kit as you like. There is plenty of time to finalize the configuration, but the production slot will be forfeited soon without a committed buyer. Exchange rates remain very favorable - if so inclined, now is a great time to get into a Caterham Seven. Cheers, -Bruce

I don't think anyone manufacturers a headless bolt (it's called a stud) :-) And, the mounting boss breaks the air-box mounting plane. As mentioned, you need to either machine and counter-bore the existing tensioner upper mounting boss, or obtain a tensioner for a CSR260 or R500. With regards to putting the parts in a "kit", they have already been advised by us, that a modified (CSR260/R500) tensioner is required. Cheers, -Bruce
-
The upper mounting bolt/boss on the tensioner is going to interfere with the air-box, once you attempt to mount it. You need a belt tensioner for a CSR260/R500, which has that boss machined down and countersunk for a (shorter) socket-head bolt. Or, do it yourself. -Bruce

You want 4.6V at 6mm opening on the roller barrels. Use a 6mm drill-rod. This conversion reverses the sweep of the TPS. As a result, if you attempt to fire it up before flashing the ECU, it will immediately flood. As a dealer, we have the ability to download and install new ECU calibrations, coordinating with the factory. Of course, we need your ECU. Cheers, -Bruce
-
You're going to need a different belt tensioner, before that air-box bolts up. -Bruce
