  1. OK, Here are the photos... the car is a BLAST to drive! http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Caterham/P1000033.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Caterham/P1000031.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Caterham/P1000030.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Caterham/P1000029.jpg
  2. Mike, if you (or anyone else passing by NYC) wants to drive out as a group, just let me know.
  3. I'll be there!
  4. Mike, You know that there is no way I can get in the Caterham with the top up...
  5. Hi Mike, Definitely count me in either weekend. The new Caterham is running like a champ and I am looking forward to my 500 mile oil change next week. Karl
  6. Croc let me try his on for size. The seats were placed all the way back and Ben at Caterham USA put in lowered floors. I'd love to get a group blat in before it gets too cold. Steve? Stuart? Mike? Boxologist? Bruce? Anyone else from NJ/NY/CT?
  7. Hi, I just got the car Sunday and put in one Tillet seat last night. It looks like I need to shed a few lbs. before I can part with the leather seats. Sorry for the false alarm.
  8. OK, the moment we have all been waiting for...The Caterham Superlight R400 SV arrived on Sunday and I got to blast about for about 100 miles. What fun... I still have a few of the missing bits on their way from Caterham USA. Detailed photos to follow once I get them on. I was pleased that at 6' 6" and 285# I fit pretty well. Now I get to start the upgrade process! (Shhhhhh, don't tell the wife) http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00020-20100919-1257.jpg
  9. Car delivery scheduled for noon tomorrow!
  10. I was lucky enough to get second place in Class 24 at the Lime Rock car show with a Superlight that was so light you could not even see it! Or perhaps Ben had it at the show and did not tell me... Historic Festival 28 Race Results and “Sunday in the Park” Concours Winners Class 24, “West Bend Corral Awards” 1. 1995 BMW 850 CSi, Ignatey Tarzian 2. 2010 Caterham Superlight R400 SV, Karl Johnson 3. 2003 BMW Z8 Alpina, Murray Liebowitz
  11. I think Caterham has this figured out...the longer I wait, the more upgrade parts I am buying! Have a great trip and we will have to take the cars out when you get back! Karl
  12. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve! I spoke to the auto transporter yesterday, he is scheduled to pick it up at Caterham USA on Monday... maiden voyage next weekend!
  13. The epoxy patch seems to be holding...car to ship Thursday
  14. No need for Bruce to rush back. Ben found an oil leak in the dry sump pan. I suggested super glue...
  15. Actually they are the Tillett B2 seats. They are labeled Caterham and I got them from Caterham UK. The are the same seats used in the CSR. A bit lower in the hip than the regular Tillet seats for the S3.
  16. So it is scheduled to ship on Friday! Caterham Superlight R400 SV Metric Chassis Ballistic Orange with Black Twin Stripes Duratec 2.0L/220 HP Limited Slip Dry Sump Uprated Brakes Lowered Floors FIA Track Roll Bar Tillet Carbon Fiber Seats Aces Shift Lights Weather Gear Black Package Polished Exhaust w/Cat Bypass (Just for the track!) 15" Motorsport w/Avon CR500 Tires (Road) 13" Motorsport w/Avon ZZR Tires (Track)
  17. We will be there...just look for the tall couple without a 7
  18. I knew someone would notice this... I'll be sure not to do this when they go on the car. These are the Avon ZZR tires from Caterham.
  19. Expecting Ben to finish up my new Superlight R400 in the next few days...my wife just can't wait! http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/IMG00088-20100831-1928.jpg
  20. Mike, I'm looking forward to joining you and Stewart in the 7's. Ben is waiting for one missing bit to finish the car. Not so sure I'll get the Superlight by Labor Day... Thanks for posting the photos. Karl
  21. I am going to be replacing the Caterham leather seats in my new Superlight SV with Tillet Carbon seats. The seats have been installed and will have been used for a test drive or two by Ben at Caterham USA, but otherwise will be like new. From Caterham, they go for about $1,000 for the pair plus shipping from the UK. I am doing this to get a bit lower and further back in the car as I am a quite tall. I am not in a rush but don't want to have the wife to see how comfortable they are and want one on her side of the car. The car should be finished by the end of the month (I can't wait to get it) and the Tillets should arrive tomorrow, I hope I fit in them! Let me know if you are interested, I'm open to offers. I am located in Northern New Jersey. https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=114_115&products_id=2052
  22. Hi Mike, I'll do my best to meet up at the "shack" but I won't have my Superlight R400 by then (unless Ben at CaterhamUSA can do magic). I do expect to have it before Labor Day, just in time for the Historics weekend at Lime Rock. Being optomistic, I have already applied for entry to the Sunday In The Park car show and have purchased tickets for the Lotus Parking Coral. If anyone is going to be at Lime Rock for either the races or show please let me know. Karl PS. Mike, thanks for all your NJ registration help, I found a good solution. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Caterham/23459_10150157686260615_728920614_11522841_2886741_n.jpg
  23. I am pleased to have joined the board that I have put a deposit on the Orange R300 SV at Caterham USA. I'm going to upgrade the engine to the 220 HP specs with a 6-spd and dry sump. Now I am keeping keeping my fingers that with Croc's coaching I can find my way through the New Jersey DMV process. With any luck I'll have the car in time for a ride to the Vintage Car races at Lime Rock with temporary Colorado plates...(yes I am extreemly optomistic)
