  1. Here are a few pictures of the progress of the Cosworth Duratec 2.3L build. I'm told it will be done next week. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/YDEngine4.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/YDEngine3.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/YDEngine2.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Cosworth%20Duratec%20Build/YDEngine1.jpg

  3. Here is the info on April 16/17. https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1212 It looks like Lime Rock on April 2nd is sold out... https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1207
  4. So, is anyone in the NE planning on other track days this season? I have a hard time getting away during the week but would like to find a few more weekend events. I have on my schedule April 2nd at Lime Rock and April 16/17 at NJMP. Karl
  5. Mike, The motor is finally in the build process at Cosworth (another 2 weeks), the gearbox is ready to go, the tall Roll Bar is in fabrication, the wheels are supposed to ship from Mog-Racing next week, parts (fuel tank, fuel tank, fuel pressure regulator, oil filter housing, uprated propshaft and engine wiring loom) are in transit to Ben at Caterham USA. I have to say it has been a lot of work to keep up with the Joneses... With any luck it will all come together by the end of this month. I have a track day set at Lime Rock on April 2nd. I never thought it would all take this long when I started in on the upgrades. I can't wait to see your new CSR! Karl
  6. I love the Bear Mountain bridge area, both sides of the river are good.
  7. Check out the Avon ZZRs, you can order them from Caterham, but the shipping may be more than the tires. Great looking tire, nice and sticky. You can get Avon CR500s in the USA at http://www.rogerkrausracing.com/
  8. Croc, I've got a limited inventory of New Old Stock, never ben trained units, at my disposal. The factory warranties have long expired though...
  9. Welcome to the board and Se7en life. I'm just across the Tapan Zee bridge. I can't help on a local source for parts, but we would all like to have you join us for the June NJMP track day! Karl
  10. Mike, Yes, I am putting in the flat shifter kit, Mog-Racing includes it in the package. The transmission is with Jack at the moment in NJ and he is searching for the correct input shaft. If he can't find one, then it will be heading to California with the motor. Karl
  11. This is what we are talking about! http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Sadev/IMG00021-20110228-1114.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Sadev/IMG00020-20110228-1113.jpg http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/Sadev/IMG00019-20110228-1113.jpg
  12. Mike, This is a good find, thanks for posting it.
  13. Perhaps it was Ron's old car... It sure was not mine, engine and gearbox are sitting on the workbench. Today I was wishing Cosworth would hurry up with the build. Karl
  14. Funny, that looks like my cell phone screen saver! Where did you find it? The photo was supposed to be classified TS.
  15. Man oh man, they look great on the car. The dedeion ears in the link below look like they might fit and are not to expensive. I have had good interactions with http://mog-racing.com They sell ears in various configurations and I am sure the owner, Joachim Westermann could advise you if they will help. http://www.westermann-motorsport.com/shop/product_info.php?info=p288_Dedion-setup-kit.html&XTCsid=cb77b153261ac2b97165995339d1c2f1 Here is something on BlatChat: As Neil says, the rear tyres for the 8" rims are very big. I had to reverse the position of the rear ARB droplinks as well as grind a bit of material off of the DeDion ears to fit the wheels. http://blatchat.com/t.asp?id=198016
  16. I plan on both days and am looking forward to it. I believe these are the links to the registration. Someone correct me if I am wrong... Monday only: https://www.scda1.com/events/detail_by_id/387875083 Monday & Tuesday: https://www.scda1.com/events/detail_by_id/465930832
  17. The Avon ZZR front tires tires (185/55-13) are 1.15 inches smaller in diameter than the rears (215/55-13). If you are currently running on the same sized tires front and back, then you should effectively lower the front end 1/2 inch.
  18. don't tell that to Ron, I think he is going to kick both our buts on the track...
  19. wait just a second, I don't see launch control on the list!
  20. I don't know about you guys, but I like the grinding sound of the seat bolts hitting the pavement! Seriously, mine is about 3 1/2 inches with me in the car. After my first flat floor setup the ride height was less than 3 inches, not too good for New Jersey roads. Now I watch for high spots in the road and try to ride over them with the wheels.
  21. No idea of the compound, though I read somewhere it is similar to their slicks, but don't have a reference. They feel nice and sticky to the tuch, but I never put them on the car to try them out.
  22. I read on piston heads that the ZZRs are heavier than the CR500s. It could be my scale, I never weighed anything light on it!
  23. John, I'll double check my bathroom sacales, but those were the weights I came up with. Then again, I could be wrong...I was never much of a finish carpenter... There is a substancial size difference (both section and diameter) between the 185s and 215s, so I would expect there to be a weight differential. The ZZRs feel lighter to me than the CR500s...
  24. Mike, The weight with tires mounted is: Caterham 6x13 wheel with Avon ZZR 185/55R13 tire - 20.0 lbs Caterham 8x13 wheel with Avon ZZR 215/55R13 tire - 24.6 lbs Here is a link to the Avon tire specs, unfortunately they don't give the tire weight. http://www.avonracing.com/road_legal_page.aspx
  25. I love the MB Wheels too, but was worried they would catch fire!
