  1. How many of you have an accurate speedo? Chances are most are out at least 5 miles an hour. Do a 10 mile run with a GPS unit to check.
  2. Try this site http://www.intatrimtelford.co.uk/index.php I have the Odyssey and find them great. I am 5'8" 165# waist 34 and this seat is snug. My car is narrow in the seat area at 16". Odyssey II would be for the bigger guy. They have many other types.
  3. could there be more yellow cars...
  4. Sockets do have a power rating as well, buy a good one.
  5. The best thing is to do preventative maintenance and know your car and its faults. I just finished a 3500km tour with the British Car Club of BC and most of the problems that people had was due to lack of maintenance. Two of the 26 cars had wheel bearings seize, now if thats not lack of maintenance. Electrical problems big time, of course we are talking British Cars. Exhaust systems falling off due too low clearance. We had a number of small ferries to go on and off. Lack of knowledge of how to fix your car. This is a big one. Its surprising how many people know very little about how to fix their car. They have a mechanic at home that works on it and this is their saviour. Unfortunately the mechanic does not come with them. One car spent 3 days on a flatdeck going from garage to garage trying to stay with the group. After many hours of fellow members helping out as well along the way. Finally made the wise choice and flatbedded the car home. Only you know what you should include in your tool kit for your car. Obviously you can't be prepared for any failure but know the weakness points of your car and plan for that. You can't predict a blown radiator, but when was the last time you flushed it or pressure tested it? When was the last time you changed your hoses? When was the last time you jacked up the car and spun the wheels, checked the front wheels bearings etc.etc. Do your maintenance, know your car, and take the basic tools and parts you need. Chances are you will be helping someone else with your spare parts and knowledge. Always have a filter on the fuel line prior to the pump, be it electrical or mechanical, I can't believe how many car owners don,t have this.
  6. I sent some questions on to the poster of the wheels and seats but he has not responded.
  7. What is the BCD on these wheels?
  8. You will probably have a harder time getting back into the US than into Canada. Don't take back to US any hollow chocolate goodies with toys in them, or you will end up in jail for sure, they are illegal in US.
  9. Sorry, I'm from the Old School, so give me a good simple engine without all the electronics. 1973 Toyota 2TG (now rare) with twin Weber 45's. pulls at low RPM like crazy and screams up to 8000 plus. MSD cut out set at 7000. Webers are easy, set the idle and sinc together, the rest is a piece of cake.
  10. Just spent 12 days with British Car group around BC interior. 11 days of rain. At least you will have nice weather. It will be hot, so get started early. Catch you on the next one.
  11. Why not try a mechanical or electric switched fuel shut off. Anybody steeling the car will only get as far as the remaining carb fuel or not even get it started for fuel injection. A hidden inline valve or switch for the electric fuel pump is cheap.
  12. The two resonators that show in the pic are Vibrant. Some people think the first one is cat converter. The systems is nice and mellow when you are just cruzing around but once the revs are up 3000 then it gets loud. At 7000 to 8000 it is piercing. I have been told not to come back to the autocross untill I stuff the system with something.
  13. here are the vibrant products in action, flex coupling and v-band clamp. I have had no problems.
  14. I think the trick is to allow air to escape while pumping in fuel. So rotating the nozzle seems to work for me. We don't have the fume recovery here in BC, so its quite easy to do. I've tried inserting a smaller tube along side the nozzle to allow air to escape, but it didn't seem to work. Maybe installing a purge valve somewhere on the tank is the answer.
  15. Try this link http://www.youtube.com/embed/iKqpvriKZuA
  16. http://www.spdexhaust.com Try this link, if they don't stock it they will make it. I ordered all my parts for my header through them and they are great.
  17. thanks guys, love the yellow 7 Tom
  18. What is the make of the wheels posted on #8
  19. First...fantastic build. As I am about to embark on building a set of headers for my car I have been trying to come up with some simple method of construction. I noticed it appears that the header on your car does not have equal lengths of tubing from the header flange to the 4 into 1. It was my understanding that headers should be of equal lengths. Can you or others on this site provide add more into building of the header, specifically the question on equal lengths and is it important. Maybe this should be a separate thread, but I'll start here. Thanks.
  20. I have the Odyssey seat from this maker http://www.intatrimtelford.co.uk I am 5' 8" 160# with a 32 waist Seats are snug so if your bigger then go to the OdysseyII My 7 is narrow 16 1/2" on the narrow side (tunnel is slightly offset).
  21. Subject: OIL - you'd better sit down. Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information : About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together." Please read below. The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ....... check THIS out: http://bakkenshale.net/bakkenshalemap.html The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion. "When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst. "This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada.. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL! That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006! U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006 Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling? They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates: - 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia - 18-times as much oil as Iraq - 21-times as much oil as Kuwait - 22-times as much oil as Iran - 500-times as much oil as Yemen - and it's all right here in the Western United States . HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY? James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post. Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists? Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this: Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain. Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book. By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!! GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind. http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911 http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911> http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911 http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911> >
  22. or is it that the U.S. wants to depleat world oil and then hold the rest of the world at ransom before it uses its own. see link below http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/u_s__has_massive_oil.htm
  23. Hey Jim you must be as old as me.... Ours was, Paul Lake 1T, 3 long rings and if you wanted someone on the party line, when the operator wasn't available, you just rang their ring with the old crank. This was usually when the line was down somewhere. I remember the old batteries were Everyready 9 lives with a picture of a cat on them, 9 volt I think.
  24. I agree with RZEMPLE, but beware, unless your a do-it-your-selfer you will need deep pockets. Good luck
  25. I may be incorrect here but I believe Morgan bought out ACE and now produce the Morgan 3 with a different engine not a Harley. Check out Jay Leno he did a test drive. Also check out Morgan site.
