  1. Or you think about it long enough and it will be gone. If that is the case then it wasn't to be.
  2. They don't appear to have adjustable spring length, is that correct.
  3. Does the vehicle have registration? Where is it registered? Does it have any leans? What is the serial # ? Record of build? Is it part of an estate? Is it stolen? Is it part of a seizure? I sure would not bid on it without more details. If its too good to be true ....... you know the old saying
  4. My Canadian built Fejer 7 replica has the original Lotus badge same as all the other Fejer 7's I have seen. The badge is set in a raised depression.
  5. 7's are never complete or finished. Complete vs Finished No dictionary has ever been able to adequately define the difference between "complete" and "finished". However, in a linguistic conference, held in London England, and attended by some of the best linguistics in the world, Samsundar Balgobin, a Guyanese was the clever winner. His final challenge was this. Some say there is no difference between "Complete" and "finished". Please explain the difference in a way that is easy to understand. His response was: When you marry the right woman, you are "complete". If you marry the wrong woman, you are "finished". And, when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are "completely finished".
  6. Looks like a praying mantis.
  7. Where are you getting the tattoo? If your getting it on your back, your not going to see much of her. I doubt shes going to dress like that anyway.

    I think I'm done

I've noticed a few threads going way off topic. Its unfortunate a few have to spoil it. Maybe the administrator needs to take a few people off the site for a while. We all have great cars. It is all in the eyes of the beholder. I for one would miss Terry's input and I will miss, as well, the others that are having a problem with this whole thing if they were to be taken off the site for a while. We are supposedly all adults here.
  9. Interesting that Caterham is bringing in the 160 and 280 with 14" wheels. Ever try to buy 14" tires in North America that are any good besides racing tires.
  10. Could it be possible that the North Americans need all that HP to pull all the BS and Lard around. If you check on the Morgan site you will note that some of the same models for the US market are 6" wider. In 2005 I drove both a Morgan Aero from England and one that was a US model. I floated around in the seat for the US model and wondered why, until I was informed of the difference. I guess that is why Caterham also produces the super size model as well. I'll probably get in trouble for this one, but if the truth hurts.....
  11. Thanks S2K2 for the old clippings. I had heard that Caterham had some dealings with the Canadian Group and copyright infringement, namely the Fejer Brothers, but have never seen anything in print that confirmed this. Small little blurb in the clippings confirm that Caterham had the Canadian Group in their radar. Does anybody on the 7's site have any more info on the demise of the Canadian 7 (Fejer Seven) by Canadian Sportcars? I think there is a member that is related to the Fejers, maybe he can provide more insight.
  12. I'm not sure which Caterham ones I have, but they are a four point and have the word Caterham in a rubberized lettering on shoulder straps. I did order them from Caterham England about four years ago. I find that the shoulder straps work their way loose with wind vibration. Locking or tucking in the strap ends seems to help but over a twisting drive they still come loose unless you have them very very snug. Not comfortable when so snug. The rubberized lettering wears off rather quickly, and start to look a little shabby. My wife hates them as the passengers arms are not out horizontal like the drivers and when the shoulder straps loosen off they fall/drift off her shoulders. This happens even though the shoulder belts come through a seat hole and end up very close to the neck, so its not the belt spacing causing the drift off. My two bits worth.
  13. Come on Mike. Get rid of that cheezy looking 90 degree bend on the breather valve to the intake. A nice sweeping line would look much better.
  14. Lancylad Off the top of my head I don't remember if 4070 or not. All I can remember is it runs at 4psi no no regulator required. In Edmonton right now so will check when I return home.
  15. I agree, I have had several electric pumps in my car and now with the Carter I would not have anything else. Works great with my twin 45 DCOEs. I mounted it at the rear near the gas tank on top of the lower frame. Just needed to make up a bracket to mount it to. I kept one old electric in line pump as a spare or to help someone else out if needed. Makes a little clik clik at idle, but when up and running the car sounds drown it out.
  16. Merry Christmas!
  17. As long as the butterflies are free moving and the bearings are smooth running, don't touch the shaft and butterflies. Putting the bodies in a altrasonic cleaner may in fact cause migration of particles into the bearings, so be careful with doing this. If your carbs have little mileage and have been sitting it is more likely just a thorough cleaning of the parts and cavities you can get at easily, new gaskets,O-rings, removal of the jets, etc. Record settings prior to taking carb apart, i.e. needle seat turns etc. Do not over torque needle seats. Use these settings on assembly and fine tune from there when carbs are back on.
  18. Wow Has 5 point seat harness........
  19. I believe Terry's trailer is built by Express Custom Trailers Mfg. out of Parksville on Vancouver Island. Check the web
  20. Check for pitting on the inside of the distributor cap posts. My experience is that caps with aluminum colored posts are bad for this. Try to find caps that have brass colored posts. Your rotor should also be brass on the tip. Even if you clean them up and then try to see if it still misses, it will at least eliminate if that is the cause of missfire.
  21. There are different specs for VWs, check your manual carefully. For instance my manual says that a TDI (140hp)with DSG/6S automatic cannot be used for towing. To do so voids warranty. No restriction on manual transmission with gas or TDI. Europe runs far more manual transmissions than North America. It has to do with tongue weight more than trailer weight. A trailer with brakes should always be used, it is so much easier on the tow vehicle, and for safety braking. VW can't make up its mind though. My manual says tongue weight maximum in one place is 165# and in another it says 200#.
