  1. What ever you use go with pop rivets. Once a screw is stripped you are screwed.
  2. I don't do track with mine, but I do autocross. Although the car is listed as 1973, I think it was built in the late 70's early 80's. The motor however if it is a 2TG engine, then the engine would be mid 70's. Also possible its an 18AGE, almost the same as the 2TG only 80's vintage. The car will have discs on the front and drums rear. I have had no problem with enough brake power with what I do, but on a track it might not be enough. It looks like from the pictures that the brake reservoir is very low on the firewall, which is not like mine at all. This could present a real heat problem for the brake fluid as this is just behind the exhaust header. It appears that the shocks are the old coil over shocks available at that time, probably Armstrong. Upgrade to adjustable shocks made a big difference on mine. I went with Spax. I'm a little miffed that the pictures in the EBay ad didn't not show a Data plate. I wrote a memo in regards to a plate, but no answer yet. The price is right, with a few mods you could have a very nice car.
  3. Check this Fejer out, has 1 strap, nice looking unit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LOTUS-SUPER-SEVEN-REPRODUCTION-1576-miles-BRAND-NEW-/221188702468?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=
  4. This is definitely a Fejer 7 from Canada. Looks almost like mine. Appears to have Toyota 2tg engine, probably T50 transmission and definitely Toyota rear end. Nice looking unit.
  5. Morgan bonnets are aluminum. The strap is not cinched tight like a saddle. The bonnet is also hinged down the centre which gives some centre line strength. All the straps I have seen are backed with natural sheep skin which will give under tension and prevent rub marks from forming on the paint. Not great for dirty areas. The morgans bonnets are held down mechanically, the strap is just a look of the past, or as previously mentioned a secondary saftey lock for the bonnet.
  6. Leather straps on the bonnet is quite common on the Morgan cars as well. My brother has had 3 Morgans and all have had the 1 leather strap about the midway point. His latest Morgan is brand new, the strap was an option. My Fejer(84) did not have a strap(s)when I purchased it, they were probably taken off somewhere along its life. I have an original photo from a newspaper clip from 1984 on the Fejers and it shows the 2 straps, both placed on the seams.
  7. Try the video There seems to be some doubt about the pictures being real. [/url]
  8. Possible they are Irmscher 7's ???
  9. I didn't see any sevens in the garages. Does that tell you something.
  10. Love your car, one sweet looking machine.
  11. I have the same problem with 14" Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 may be an answer if you want both street and track
  12. I've got the same muffler and plan on building a new header this winter. Interested on how you mounted the muffler. Can you post some detail pictures to show how you did it. I had a circular band built to hold the muffler and hang off the side of the car but it looks a little ugly.
  13. Hey Toyotus 7 where are you located? There are a few of us in B.C.
  14. Nice looking job. Well done. As a John Deere owner I thought you might like this pic. Where in BC are you.
  15. Terry Is that an old picture (2006) or is your camera date not set correct.
  16. Sounds like a great bunch of 7's guys. Can't wait to get together. The GBB is in my radar. And apparently a pick-up trailer is included.....
  17. Very interesting. Great photos and captions. My Canadian Fejer 7 was bought out of Japan and I have been trying to trace how it actually got there. It came sans Watanabee Wheels and Toyota 70's 2TG twin cam 1600. It may have seen some of these events in its lifetime. Picture is pre-buy while in Japan.
  18. Not going to bite on that one.......my 7 has a nice warm garage, not left out in the snow, for cats to pee in, mice to crawl into the nooks and crannies etc. Shame, shame, shame. I'm probably really in trouble now....
  19. I would guess the gauges in front of the passenger as speedo and fuel gauges. So much room under the bonnet with that little engine.
  20. Just in time for ice racing
  21. Oh boy, this could get nasty. Drive on the wrong side of the road....never.
  22. I new I would get somebody going on the trailer......... Did I say I ice raced the 7, oh no, not the seven, although it would be fun wouldn't it. Maybe on timed laps, like autocross. That would be a blast. try this site http://www.caccautosport.org/CACCice_main.html
  23. Busy getting the car ready for ice racing. Can't wait for the pond out back to freeze up so I can get some practice in. Might be a late start this year. The bugger is I can't drive on the streets with ice racing studs so have to trailer the car.
  24. One of the best trips the wife and I have made was the Kamloops-Jasper-Banff-Kamloops route in late fall. Temps were crisp in the morning, clear sky all day and fantastic colour. Our final leg started at -5C in Banff and it was great. Got a lot of looks, don't know if it was the car or they thought we were nuts.
  25. Fantastic job, great skills
