Steve, I am also staying at the track. I stayed off track on my first visit. Stayed on site the second time and have been there ever since. See you there. DaveD

Mark, That is the same differential that is in the Superformance S1. I just opened mine up. I found metal bits attached to the magnetic fill plug. The ring and pinion look fine. The last time I saw this was when a van I had shredded a shim behind the pinion. It has been a real chore trying to find out what this axle is out of. So far I have not had any luck. In all the looking on the internet that I have done I have only ever run across one other picture of this type axle and the said it was out of a Toyota Hilux. But I am at a loss to find parts for it. I believe it is a 1996-2002 axle. I found seals and bearing listed for the axle ends. But cannot find any listing for differential parts. What did you specify as the vehicle to replace the cover gasket? I am thinking I will have to go to my local Advance Auto and look through their stock to find one that is close. Dave

The mic was clipped under the dash. That ended up giving me the best sound. I have to thank the guy I bought the car from for the transmission he put in it. It is a Type 9 with Quaife rally gear set in it. It is a blast on the track and it is matched really well with the Zetec engine mods. BTW he took care of the oil drive problem that deters from reving above 7500 rpm. My red-line is set at 8500. I have only ever hit the rev limiter once and that was at the PA State auto cross championship in 2005. But it really helps being able to go out to 8000 and every now and then a little bit over. I believe I was hitting 8300 at the end of the straight on my fastest runs.

Thanks Mike, I have watched my videos probably 100 times since last year. My video from the second day when I was following Croc, just before the lightning struck the dirt after turn 1, I saw he was holding a high line thru the bowl and I could not keep pace with him. I definitely want to experiment more in that turn this year. I will have to try out what you are suggesting also. I have a lot to learn from you more experienced drivers.

Yeah....it is much better on the track. I tried auto crossing it a couple years and the car is not set up very good for it. I red-line 1st at 65 mph.

Dang!!! You caught me. I never realized it was up. You didn't see the other thing I did wrong. I started the video just after I had un-clipped my right arm from the tether strap. After watching the video I realized I did not hook it back on. Definitely a Novice.

I am posting a link to my in car video from day 1 session 4 last year at USA7s 2014 at NJMP. I have started watching it over and over again to get my line down before this years event. (actually I have been watching it constantly since last year). Enjoy!

I have Superformance #50 and the way I solve the angle issues with the trailer ramp is to raise the front of the trailer. It worked great last year at the track. With the nose raised I could easily drive it into the trailer and use it as a garage. And it coasts out easily. It's not easy to see in this picture but the front of the trailer is high decreasing the angles of the ramp. When I leave the trailer hitched up to the tow vehicle I drive the rear wheels of the tow vehicle up onto a pair of wood ramps I made. It works great. I do not have a beaver tail trailer and I never have to worry about catching the bottom of the car. Not sure this will help for your trailer but for those that have a trailer similar to mine it's the best and easiest solution I have found. Dave

Just made my reservations for a VIP Suite! Now I have to see about getting my car ready for this year. I have only driven it twice since last year and the last time out it had a shake in the drive train. I am hoping it is not the differential. But last year I saw material on the drain plug magnet that did not look good. I am really looking forward to this year!

Shane, I agree with Mike. My car looked much worse after a 6' high chain link fence caught it. You must have had considerable air under the car before you landed! Keeping you in our prayers for a speedy and full recovery. Dave

Shane, Wow! Bev and I are very sorry to hear this news. We are happy to hear it turned out better than it could have been. We praise the LORD for that. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss you at NJMP this year. It won't be the same without you there. Hang in there and get well quick. Dave and Bev

Tom, Put me down for Saturday and Sunday. Bev will be coming with me. Thanks, Dave

Ha! I did not intend it to be a kick in anyone's butt, let alone yours. You always amazed me in the past years with assembling together excellent video. This year has got to be at least double the work to do it again. I for one salute you :flag: for such a great job in the past and if you get it done again it will be icing on the cake. I feel bad cause it took me so long just to get this one done. I hope eventually to get all my video on YouTube and share with all. Dave

I believe that was one of Roman's off roading short cuts he tried. LOL

I finally got around to figuring out how to get on YouTube and upload video. This was shot by Bev (my wife). No fancy editing just put all the video clips together into one movie. This is the first day's video. When I get more time I will try and get day 2 uploaded. Dave

I hope Santa was good to everyone and you had a Merry Christmas! Have a Safe and Happy New Year. Looking forward to seeing some of you again next year. Tom, you guys got the moves down really good! Dave Superformance S1 #50

Depending on what parts you have I may be interested in buying some of them. My experience putting my car back together in 2007 after having an autocross instructor put it into a chain link fence, showed me that Superformance in the US had abandoned support of the S1. I eventually got it back together thanks to some very talented fiberglass and machinist fabricators. Very unfortunate, as I would consider one of their other cars if it weren't for that. My impression is once you buy it "SEE YA!", no support what so ever. At least not from the Superformance people I tried to contact. Good luck on the sale of your car. I absolutely love mine! Driving it is the most fun I have ever had. I got it completely sorted out, for the track, this past year and ran 2nd NJMP USA7s track weekend in July and was amazed at how good the car ran.

My son also did some rearch and said he found out that some belt manufacturers will recertify their belts after the expiration date. He said the main thing they do is re-sew the stitching on the belts and check for uv damage to the webbing. He said G-Force (which is what I bought) will do the recertification for $75 per seat belt. I doubt to many of us with sevens leave our cars out in the sun enough to worry about uv damage.
