  1. It has been snowing here, just north of Baltimore, since early this morning. We have about 3-4 inches on the ground now. I was out last night and they had pre-treated the main roads. I hate when they do that. I won't run the car now until the roads clean off a bit. I would have liked to run with everyone tomorrow but I don't have a trailer readily available and 2.5 hours each way is too far to drive my car right now. Plus I don't have cable chains for it! :banghead: I am looking forward to the next NJMP outing. I will be running with you guys on the track next time. Dave
  2. Yeah! I like the last point at the bottom too. I can't imagine some of the crap judges like this must have to listen to.
  3. You should have pitted and pulled back out just in front of them. Let them catch up and then drove away from them. :driving:
  4. Tom, I finally got to watch the video after getting someone to copy it to a DVD for me. It turned out great. You did a great job putting it together. My wife had some video, but it was a new camera and the video is so so. Next time we will take the old Sony, it takes great video from ground. Dermot, I am going to schedule myself and my daughter to run FATT on the Shenandoha circuit on Sat. 9/24. I have run there before and love it. I ran the Main course last time and I liked Shenandoha better. It is a much more complicated course to learn than the Main track. But I started to find a rythm on it and it was a blast. I will be running Group 1 (beginners) and should get my sign off to run Group 2 there after. Dave
  5. I had a great time on Monday meeting everyone for the first time. It's a great bunch of guys and cars. Too bad we are so spread out. The cars were stunning on and off the track. Next time I plan to be ready to run my car with the group. It was quite a site watching 7 sevens out on the track together making havoc with the slower traffic! Well done all. And the best part was everyone went home still running. Woo Hoo! Can't get much better than that. Here are a couple more pics. My wife was shooting pics and video like crazy with a new camera, unfortunately many of them were not quite in focus. She took lots of video. If I can get myself set up on youtube I'll send the links. Just passed slower traffic http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=3184&stc=1&d=1309469920 Tom wasn't always following http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=3185&stc=1&d=1309469920 One more pic in the paddock http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=3186&stc=1&d=1309469920
  6. Tom and Mike, Thanks for the wake up email. I will be there on Monday for sure. I won't be driving the track. I am thinking about staying for Tuesday also, but not sure yet. Dave D

    Snow storm!

Did you notice that the guy on the motorcycle is not the only one wearing a helmet?
  8. Thanks Tom. That sounds Excellent! Now I need to get my car in shape for a track day and find out if they will let Steve and I run our S1s.
  9. I ran in their Friday At the Track (FAT) events. They make new drivers run in Group 1 which is for novices (that was me) and when they feel OK with your driving they give you a certification card and are allowed to run Group 2. I had run 3 events over 2 years and they were ready to give me my cert to run Group 2. I never followed through as I have not been back since. But I would eventually like to return and get it done. Do they split the cars like that for the LOG track time or do they just require the newbies to have an instructor and run everyone together?
  10. Thanks for the video. I ran mine on both tracks year before last. Are you running in group 2? I can't wait to participate with some other sevens.
  11. I like the sound. Never would have believed it was a 7. I have a lot to see and learn.
  12. Nice.....
  13. You can add me to the list as a possible. I have an S1 like Steve, so I'll need to know if they will accept us there. I ran mine twice at Summit in 2009. Had a blast. It would be really fun to run with all 7s. Dave D ----------- Superformance S1

Driving Instruction (how not to drive)

These are pics from the aftermath of a autocross instructor trying to show me how to negotiate a chicane on the autox course at the Carlisle Kit show in 2006. This was a tough lesson for me to learn about letting others drive my car.
