New owner of Super 7 SV, tire questions
BlueMax replied to DLove's topic in General Sevens Discussion
My speedo never work also. After a comprehensive as well speeo replacement. I found that who ever manufactured the wiring harness for Caterham during the assembly place the wiring spade connectors in the wrong sequence on the speedo connector. Their for, the speedo couldn't read the plus from the transmitter at gearbox correctly. Also, the LED alternator warning bulb in speedo wouldn't work correctly also warning light stayed on constantly. The wiring harness needed a resister in order to properly function on speedo correctly for LED bulbs. -
Hello Yoram, I'm a little late, but want to welcome you to the forum. If you would like some comparison on the fit between the two cars you are more than welcome to come by and compare the fit of my SV? I'm located in Powdersville SC. Regards

Or perhaps many of the people visiting C & C have figured out what's reported is way over exaggerated. Glad you enjoyed your (BLAT) https://www.winknews.com/2020/07/14/swfl-hospitals-shown-testing-100-positive-for-covid-19-but-they-say-thats-wrong/ [h=2][/h]

Why not use Motocraft VC-3B Coolant/Antifreeze, it's OEM for Fords.

Well, decided to try out the Bridgestone Potenza RE71R . My sales rep at the Tire Rack said that these were a awesome street track tire..

One of our forum members Eddie Hill operates an authorized Aerial Atom dealership at Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles Wichita Falls Texas. I would bet he or his lovely wife Ercie would have the latest on how to license your car. https://eddiehillsfuncycles.com/Ariel-Atom Cheers

I had a bad valve stem RH rear leaking so took the tire to have the stem replace on a Avon ZZ1. The tire that had very, very low mileage but may have been dry rotted? In trying to change the valve stem the tire store damage the tire while braking down bead on the inside. Thought about replacing tire back with the Avon"s but also looking at a Michelin Super Pilot III the Toyo Proxes R1R and the Yokohama A032R. Sure would like some input on a good fit for street and autocross aggressive driving. Sorry, tire size now 205/45/16 Thanks

Are the spark plugs sparking? Remove one and lay against the engine block for ground and spin engine over. If they are not sparking then check voltage to coil on both leads, need 12V. If you have 12V the the Pertronix unit has failed. Make sure that fuel is getting to the engine too! Carburetor cars are very simple to fix, all you need is fuel and spark and since it was running well before you shut it off it will be one or the other.

Just finished painting my Caterham. My answer would be would be, to what degree of paint job your seeking as well the skills of painter and the quality of paints will determined the cost of a paint job.
-
Was wonder if anyone has blended this color on their Caterham, my car is 2003 SV? I've sprayed several test strips, still can't get the correct formula base on Ferrari PPG formula? I'm using Spies Heckers paint, but I can take formulas of others paint manufactures. Thanks

Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions!! I was going to give (3M) Invisishield a try after I have them polish. I have also thought of some type of mud flap attached to the back side of the front lower wings very close to the ground. It would probably look quite tacky. I was wondering if anyone has used Invisishield product on their stone guards and rear wings?
-
Just curious? On my 03 SV I notice other than being sided that the LH is smaller than the RH. I plan to have them polished if the estimate is less than new replacements. Are all stainless stone guards like mine for the SV's?

Thanks very much guys, I'm in Easley SC. Just take it to shows and some cars and coffee, no track time for this car. Engine is 10.5 to 1 idles around 1100 RPMS. Cam is a scattered pattern SPVP3 billet with 286 duration which is about all you can run and drive on the street with this car. The 1380 should be around 115-120 hp. Car took first in class at EuroFest last month. A few more photos.
