......and disappointed again. Seems to be a theme here. The harness is wired, the front brakes are bled, and the she runs. The challenges are that the headers are still not sealed to the collector very well. There are lots of significant leaks around the slip joints. This will cause trouble for the O2 sensor in the collector, and needs to be resolved. For some reason the brakes are having trouble creating pressure, and the rears have not get fluid to them yet. I left the rears to gravity feed for the last two weeks because that's as often as I get to visit it at the shop. Lastly, and most disappointingly, there seems to be brownish "goo" in the coolant. I have not checked the oil yet to see if there are deposits in the there, yet. I have read a little, and hope that the problem is only the head Gasket. Seriously though, a head gasket on a 0km motor????:banghead: I have decided to get the car home to work on it in my garage. Since it runs, I can work on sealing the headers and test it. All the other little bits can be sorted before the tune as well. I have never removed the head from an engine before, but I guess it gives me the opportunity to swap out the VCT head for one that will help provide more power. With that, I may be looking to borrow a trailer over the holidays (just for one day though) anyone have one gathering snow?

I think you know the answer there. :boxing: I hope to see it again this week, and finish off the rear brakes. (the last thing needed from me to get it on the dyno) With how busy I am at work, and the shop not open late, I hardly get to see her. The shop knows I'm collecting it before Christmas, with or without the tune complete. As I was putting it together, it reminded me of a picture posted not too long ago actually.

For a little cost savings in addition to the weight, check out Deka EXT14. In Canada I picked one up for about $100. There are post kits that can be purchased for it too from here: http://shopping.microbattery.com/s.nl/it.A/id.6578/.f This battery has been used by several friends in my Auto-x group for some time. I am using one in my Birkin build currently as well.

Well it is a bit smaller, and still only as fast as the other one I'm building, but it was done in an evening. :smilielol5: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_1624.jpg

Progress has been next to nill since the last update. I managed to get both the Diff and the trans filled with Amsoil. I have also filled the front brakes, and am gravity bleeding the rears as we speak. Yes, gravity bleeding the rear means that I filled the lines and ran out of time until the next time. I decided to go with a Motul 5.1 non-synthetic for the brakes and the clutch. The rad fan has been wired up front, and all I need is to wire the relay to the ECU and the cooling system will be almost done. Unfortunately the coolant reservoir needs one return line (top) plumbed for the cooling system to be complete. The shop is committed to getting the car done with the tune before christmas, and that means I can get it to another garage space I have secured to finished the things needed for inspection.

Good to hear. All clear during Movember, seems fitting. :hurray:

Why I didn't think of enlisting your help right from the beginning, I'll never know.

The canvas is exposed. It is mounted on a wood framed strecher. They mentioned that there is a laminate on it, but nothing that I should consider putting in the garage. I don't expect you to have to make up for their mistake, but I do thank you for the very generous offer. It is hanging in the house right now, but the better half is none too happy about it.

Am I the only one who finds this whole trailer, not trailering thing overplayed?

Sometimes I think everything to do with my car is cursed. I wanted to mount it on Masonite so it could be put in the garage when I get one back. I got a call a week early, and rush to find its been mounted on canvas and has no hope of surviving in the garage. I talked to the ladies there and they suggested that I wouldn't easily be able to transfer it to the Masonite I wanted, and a new print would need to be ordered. Throwing a temper tantrum wasn't going fix anything, and it does look great, so I'll have to find a place in the house for my XXL canvas print.

I'm aiming to be ready for the first CSCC auto-x of the season. Hopefully well before that, b ut the way things are going, I'm not promising anything.

Well it's as if my shop was reading my mind. I got a chance to go in last night. Sorted out the rad fan.

I need to get the car somewhere I can actually work on it. The shop it's in has a severe labor shortage and I don't get the calls to come in during the evenings. I told them I would get the brakes going and all the fluids filled for getting on the dyno, but I never get called to go in. So there it sits, with nothing getting accomplshed. I find it extremely frustrating that they have had the car for 5 months, and really only the wiring harness for the motor is in, and it has been started a couple times. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Tough but fair.

This time of year my mind wanders to the mountains to 4x4 instead.

Hahahah. No not that. Trixxy is the short form of Beatrice, Like Betty for Elizabeth.
-
If only it were that simple. The car runs, but there are a few small challenges that need to be sorted before the tune. The shop that has been doing the work has fallen into severe staffing shortages and the progress has been almost nill. I get over there when I can, but it doesn't always work out. In addition to all that, the garage I was renting is no longer available. Even if Trixxy was ready to go home with me, I haven't a place to put her. All that said, I hope to have the tune done before the holidays and In a shop where I can continue to finish the little things required to pass inspection.

Sorry I missed this today. Life caught up with me and I was unable to get away. Aiming to be there for the next, whenever that may be.

It arrived today!!

I'm not worried yet. I have been building my car primarialy with parts bought online and shipped. I am used to the delays that occasionally occur in shipping.
-
Wow. I am amused that your poster arrived in Australia before mine in Canada. I hope to see mine this week, I'm very excited.

I'd like to switch to Comp 1 if I may. I'll PM you as well, but I'm interested in the largest size you were working on (30"*70").
-
Personally I'd be alright with the larger size as well.

I have been infatuated with the jump for the last couple weeks. An amazing feat, and I'm sure there is lots of data that can be learned from the jump. I was interested to hear it is not the first time that a pilot was without a plane at Mach + speeds though. It is just as interesting a story.
