  1. I am also out unfortunately. I'm out of town for the weekend. Have a good Blat folks, Take lots of photo's as I'll be living vicariously through them.
  2. It is starting to look bleak that I can make it in the Birkin. I won't feel confident in such a journey until I shake it down. I may still be in for the drive with the new Jeep though. Kitty still really wants to go.
  3. I like the way you think Bill. Great country to drive though down there too. We plan on camping through the weekend in Watertown, coming back Sunday.
  4. July 8 does not work out for me as I promised Kitty that I would take her to Waterton lakes that weekend. Not that I'm suggesting that it get moved on my behalf, but just that is doesn't work for me......I'm going to stop now before I start sounding like a jerk.
  5. Let me know when the blat is, and even f all the cabins are full, I could still meet you all and see you off. Photo opp and all.
  6. More than likely not. I can get away to be a passenger and take pictures though.
  7. It has been a little nice to have this last week off from working on the car. I have caught up on some reading/video games/ and car shopping.... http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/8d13f9e6.jpg I did get to peek at Beatrice and the progress being made on her. I cannot wait... http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/45f11e60.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/6f1bb3b9.jpg
  8. I'd be interested in reading a blog you keep on Madge. Do you have a running blog for her?
  9. I have a long list of cars that I spent nights dreaming about owning and driving. I sat here and thought to myself, what of these I would put down in this thread. I've loved Deloreans for the forward thinking they had, and the unique design. I'd love to have a Koenigsegg for the outright power and the sound. The Weismann GT for the design and the precision of German engineering. The Spyker for the way it looks......and well from what I hear, that's about it. I can come up with a list as long as my arm for dream cars I want to own and drive, but as I sit and think about this thread and what to write, all I can think about is my Beatrice. I guess I'm lucky and new enough to Se7ens to be getting close to driving my ultimate dream car.
  10. That has always been part of the goal. There is still some work to be done, but it's moving in the right direction. This gives me a week at least to sort out some of the other things in my life, while it's getting worked on by the shop.
  11. Today was an exciting day though. I finally got the car to her new home for the next couple weeks. Vex Performance will be wiring in the ECU and doing the first turn on the motor. I could barely sleep last night knowing the progress soon to be made. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/0182c876.jpg First rainy day for Beatrice. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/777a27aa.jpg And a plug for the shop. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/8ce87a4d.jpg
  12. Not running yet, but a bit of progress. I found the one bit for the accelerator cable that goes in the pedal, but had to fab the other. I used a couple sections of aluminum dowel, and put one inside the other. I wanted to allow a small amount of twist in the joint so I drilled the inner dowel slightly larger than the outer for the cotter pin. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/eec17b27.jpg I pressed the assembly into the pedal box and set up the throttle as best as I know how. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/fe098906.jpg
  13. Thanks! I have seen that on your car before. I'll take all options into consideration. Since it is not needed to run, I'll focus more intently on it later.
  14. Thanks Bruce!! Last night I went through my parts and found the one that gtes the cotter pin. I couldn't find the other so I'll have to make it. Looks simple enough, a 1cm aluminum dowl drilled all the way for the cable and half way for the cable outer protection
  15. Thanks a lot for the picture. I am missing the parts that hold the cable (red) and the parts that hold the cable in the pedal end. (green) I don't suppose there are pictures of the parts that hold the outer and inner cables in the pedal box and the pedal respectively?
  16. Got some more work done on the car today. Finally got the radiator feed line to the pump fabbed up. It's a real pain to do as the steering arms and the bracket for the steering assembly is real close to the feed from the bottom of the rad. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_9423.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_9422.jpg I also got the backplate drilled and cleaned up for the intake. Unfortunately it looks like ass when the hood is attached. I tried offsetting the backplate to make it look good through the hood opening, but unfortunately because of the way the trumpets fit under the filter I couldn't offset it enough to look good under the hood. It will end up bugging me forever so I imagine I'll be looking for a scoop to cover the hole. So first question to all you fine enthusiasts is where you may find a scoop for covering the hood opening? http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_9416.jpg I have another question as well. In working on the intake, I hooked up the throttle cable, and had great success on the intake, but I'm missing parts for hooking the cable up to the accelerator pedal. I'm hoping that I could get some volunteers to take some detail shots of the throttle cable hook up. Further to that, if the shots are from a Birkin, it would be greatly appreciated as I have a few parts laying around but no reference for where they go or if they are even for my car. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_9418.jpg
  17. That is all kinds of awesome! Great work.
  18. I dig it! Looks brilliant!!
  19. It's funny that most of the Se7ens around here are yellow. I think future plans include a paint job on the fenders to black, and eventually the car a gunmetal type of grey/silver. Seats are on the floor, and I want to be able to run the weather gear so I think the rollbar stays. I'll just have to keep it shiny side up. I'm just below the bar actually, but not by much. The camera wa pretty low.
  20. Been forever since my last update. This Monday she heads to the engine builder for turn over and tune. I have a couple pictures from the weekend. Unfortunately I haven't made it to the car this week as we are looking into purchasing a Tacoma as well. Yup, I missed the deadline with Vex this past Monday due to stupid little items that should be done before heading there. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_1313.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_1334.jpg I feel worse than I look in this picture as I had been working on the car the whole weekend with some late nights and early mornings. I worked until the very early morning on Monday in the hope to make my deadline. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/IMG_1332.jpg
  21. Went to a local fastener dealer in town and decided to upgrade all the hardware. After some discussions with the retailer, I decided to upgrade all the bolts to a 10.9 ISO grade. He seems to think that is the way to go based on the forces at work on this section of the brakes. Unfortunately the washers are not the same thickness as the ones in the mock up that worked perfectly. I'll see if doubling them up will get me a little closer todead center.
  22. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/5cf97a8b.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/1112c6b4.jpg I mocked up a solution last night with some washers, and found I can indeed push the caliper back a bit without too much modification. I'll be getting some better hardware today to properly fix the challenge tonight. This solution was mentioned on the Birkin Yahoo group when I posed the question there. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l294/nivaguy/4b8cdbed.jpg
  23. Pm sent. Thanks!
  24. I think so. On the windshield I have the posts for the doors. I'm missing the hardware that bolts to the door, and hangs on the windshield posts. I was thinking of welding a tube on to a plate and bolting that to the door. I'd rather get a proper set though.
