  1. If you look at the photo I posted a few weeks ago under "Another Fejer" in the member rides, you'll see that the yellow car still has it's leather bonnet straps on the seams, as discussed. If you search the Internet, you'll find examples of cars with them in the middle of the bonnet. I actually doubt that they would cave in a bonnet if they are placed in the middle, but again, the short little straps (i.e. 5 inches) like on a Porsche or old jag would probably look better in my opinion.
  2. I have a Canadian built Fejer 7 with leather bonnet straps. I think it was a fejer 'thing' to do. It's depicted in an early magazine review of his cars with several photos of the test car with bonnet straps. For some reason, the Fejer cars have the straps right over the front and rear of the bonnet seam (where it joins the nose and the cowl). In my mind, a single strap, midway up the bonnet would look better or, alternatively, short straps at the bottom corners of the bonnet like on an old XK120 or porsche speedster.
  3. Just wanted to let the Fejer fans out there know about an interesting one listed on Used Victoria right now. It's an unassembled kit from the 1980s. It's NEVER been assembled and appears to be a complete kit as ordered in the 80s, sans windscreen. I'm not sure how you get around the Transport Canada kit car laws these days, but I think that it's still legal to register u-built cars in BC. It's very interesting to see one in that state and a bit like finding a vintage hobby kit that you never got around to building as a kid. Here's the listing. Not sure how firm he is on the price, but if you're into Fejers this might be the ultimate. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Lotus-Caterham-Lotus-7-Kit-Car---Unassembled_18881381
  4. Hi Reddcarr,

Please accept my apologies if you get this posting twice. Something screwed up the first time I tried to send it. Anyway, I noticed on a very old post that you worked for George Fejer in the 1980s. I'd be very interested in what you have to say about that. I have two super sevens that I understand are Fejer 7s. I have a small amount of promotional material from a company on Vancouver Island that planned on distributing the cars in the early to mid 1980s, but I would really like to know more about the Fejers. If you could help me out that would be great. I don't suppose you have any photos of the facilities do you? My email address is 64_stray_cat@live.ca

    Thanks,

  5. I just picked up another super 7 on Vancouver Island. It's registered as a 1983 model, presumably one of the first few from Canadian Industrial Prototype Ltd. (Fejer, I believe) that reportedly came to the Island and were sold through Sports Car World, Victoria. This particular yellow, black and silver car features a 2 litre Toyota 18RG twin cam with dual side draught Mikuni carbs and retains the Fejer bumpers and bonnet straps. Check out the cool top with zip in side curtains. It's a neat car.
  6. Nice car. I'm very interested in the Fejer cars and the variants that were put together on Vancouver Island in the early 80s. Do you know much about them?
  7. I'd always thought that Toyota engines were among the most common and best choices for 7s. It certainly seems to be the way a lot of 7s were put together in Canada (particularly BC), perhaps because of Fejer and another cottage industry builder on Vancouver Island in the 80s. Nice job on the build, btw. Have fun with it.
  8. In case anyone is interested, there is also a very good street-style car show for old english stuff on Oak Bay Avenue (Victoria, BC) on Sunday. There are usually several old Lotuses (Loti?) there. As luck would have it, I have company for the weekend, but I may try to catch the group with my Fejer 7 at some point.
  9. I missed last year's sevenfest (2011) in Vancouver. Are there any plans to do it again this year?
  10. I can try to look at this car, if anyone is really interested. I don't live too far away. I thought that there could be a problem with the aluminum skin around the driver's side entry point. Take a close look at the photos and see for yourself. It seems a bit shy of the correct amount, but it could be just fine. Cool car, either way. -D'Arcy
  11. This seems like a completely awesome trip. I'll definitely try to make it. If I could add one suggestion......How about taking it all the way to Tofino on Vancouver Island? Some of the nicest roads in the Canada are on the Island. Reaching the unecumbered Pacific Ocean at Tofino or Uculet would be a nice finishing touch.
  12. That looks like fun, Chris. I'd be very interested in doing that next August, or maybe I'll give it a trial run next weekend if we've got some sunshine.
  13. I'm on Vancouver Island.....specifically, Victoria.
  14. Here's a photo of my Fejer 7. It's a huge amount of fun, as you know. If anyone else has any published or unpublished information on George & Rudy Fejer that relates to these cars, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks, T-7
  15. Hello Fellas, I'm new to this forum. I have a Fejer 7 with a 3TC and twin side draft webers and a 5 speed. It's registered as a 1986 and came with some good photos and promotional material from the guys on Vancouver Island who were going to sell the cars out west. I'll try posting some pictures shortly.
