  1. That's weird. I thought that HKS had only limited the official North American distributors down to 6 outfits; one in Canada and 5 in the States, not pulled out altogether. At least that's what I had heard as of this Spring. A friend of mine is the Canadian distributor.
  2. Seems to me that similar discussion has come up on here before. Maybe try a search for heim joint. I have 2 fejers with the same set up. I haven't had that problem, but do note that some height adjustable coil over shocks on the front and back might help, if bushings aren't the problem. The original non-adjustable rear shocks on one of my cars are quite poor and the car tends to sit very, very low.
  3. If you have the opportunity to drive along to drive along Chuckanut Drive in Washington, do it. It's between a very small but interesting town named Edison and Bellingham. The Olympic Peninsula is as lovely as Vancouver Island, and highway 1 in California is breathtaking.
  4. Thank you for posting this. There still seem to be number of Fejers on Vancouver Island.
  5. I love this idea. It would be very fun, economical and respectably fast car.

Great shots! Interesting cut-aways on the number 62 car. They are all gorgeous, of course, but the top and bottom cars really strike my fancy with their smaller rear fenders and cycle fenders up front.
  7. Welcome Chinook! I'd love to hear more about your grandfather as well. The unassembled car from Victoria that was mentioned above went to the Lower Mainland. I have two Fejer 7s and met a prof from UVic who has another one a couple of months ago. I believe there maybe a half dozen or so still on vancouver island.

    Calgary floods

Sorry to hear of the devastating floods in Alberta. It's a beautiful province, particularly in many of the areas that have been most heavily hit. Dare I say that was the power of Mother Nature that formed such breath-taking beauty in the first place and drew those hearty souls to her. Bless you all and may your families and friends (and your sevens) be safe and happy for years to come.
  9. That manifold on the Lexus engine is stunning. The engine is a masterpiece in its own right, but car is out of this world. Well done!
  10. If you like unusual car videos then you might enjoy "Rides with Chuck" on YouTube. Fairly unassuming dude whom interviews the owners and goes for rides in many fantastic and very rare old cars.
  11. That's a great looking car. I had been wondering what a seven would look like with Indian chief style skirted fenders, modified nose and Duvall windscreen and a carson top with scalloped paint, but this is way better. Nice job.
  12. Cool story. Nice car.
  13. There's something very sevenesque about a yellow jacket. Even the wings are shaped like a set of clam shells although a literal translation would mean the seven would be flying backwards. I think it's a cool inspiration for a paint job, though. Check out the image at the link. http://cdn.orkin.com/images/wasps/yellow-jacket-illustration_1950x1518.jpg
  14. That paint is truly fantastic. I had been considering something similar to the beatnik bandit for my own car, that or a rendition of a yellow jacket (wasp), but you're takes the cake. Nice work!

Oops, please accept my apologies if I posted this image twice. It's from Victoria on the weekend. I know how this crowd loves photos of sevens.

Fantastic weather out in Victoria this weekend, too! I took the Fejer with the 'vintage' Toyota 18RG twin cam out for the day yesterday. What a hoot! Enjoy your day.
  17. The nice thing about the lift-a-dots is that you can put different lengths of stud in strategic locations so that you could potentially use the tonneau and/or parcel shelf cover, and the soft top at the same time. It's hard to explain, but it would allow you to use a cover over the rear parcel shelf, and a soft top concurrently or a full tonneau and soft top at the same time (this might sound silly, but it helps in rainy climates when your car sits outside). I like 'em, but others may not. They are used on many classic English sports cars.
  18. Well worth the hour of free time to take that one in. Excellent!
  19. Thank you for the information. I had looked at similar mirrors in pictures of a car from Japan and I had been wondering whether the tripods were fabricated by the owner. They are excellent....so is your car.
  20. By the way, escondidoron, where did you get those side mirrors for your Series 2? I love them.
  21. I like the "baby straps" very much. That's what I'd like to do with my 83 Fejer.
  22. That looks good, tio poncho.
  23. Yup. Victoria.
  24. Mine's my daily driver on the island. I consider my self lucky, but a little wet once in a while.
  25. Here's a vintage shot of the Fejer style of hood straps.
