  1. A friend of mine has an extremely power road racing supra (i.e.700+ rwhp) where he runs 17s on the back with more rubber and 18s on the front with lower profile tires. It apparently "hooked up" very well as a result.
  2. That thing in the middle is a wicked looking piece of kit. Is that the Zagato?
  3. The whole thing is completely disgusting. I have no more words.
  4. I vote for the "it's your car, so put whatever you want on it" comment and I'd add that it really doesn't matter whether you bought it or built it. It's yours. Lord knows even Isuzu had Lotus badging at one time.
  5. EVO is indeed a british magazine (and a very good one) focused on new high performance cars.
  6. As my cars are Toyota powered, I've been toying with the idea of putting an upside-down Lexus "L" on the grill or nose. I just haven't brought myself to the point of executing that plan yet.
  7. I like it!
  8. Seems like a goofy gimmick to me.
  9. Wonderful video!
  10. There's a nice older Birkin listed on the Old English Car Club classifieds in BC too. http://www.oecc.ca/for_sale_ads/1989_birkin_s3.pdf
  11. The Kougar is interesting, although probably a sad ending to MK II jag. As I recall they were a fairly nicely engineered thing, reminiscent of 1940s or 50s special.
  12. Feels like a bargain.
  13. I don't want to hijack the thread but I was very surprised to read that Toyota also makes or made a 5.0 litre V-12.
  14. Ok...so, perhaps "gorgeous engine" was a bit over the top, but they do clean up nicely and have a cool "little red ram" vibe.
  15. Gorgeous engine. I don't recall ever seeing one before on this side of the planet.
  16. I bought my first one just a few days shy of my 48th birthday, then, fearing that would wear it out from overuse (daily driver), bought another one for a Christmas present to myself when I was 49. However, a friend of mine has owned his geniune lotus seven since 1968ish, when it was a new-but-unsold dealer stock, having sat for two years.
  17. Lord Vader just called. He wants his car back.
  18. Thanks everyone.
  19. I personally prefer the look of the very rounded Series 1 rear wings or the slightly wider Series 2 wings over the outrageous, flat-sided Series 3 rear wings. Oh, my great and wise fellow seveners, does anyone know of a source for more rounded series 1 style rear wings? I suppose it would be fine if they were a bit wider than the originals. I suspect that there could be something out there from a Harley or Indian trike, but I'd appreciate it anyone knows of a source. Thanks
  20. I love the look of the Lucas flamethrower lights. Gorgeous car.
  21. I believe the same guy has a number of modified minis. I like it. However, my favourite is still the Austin Seven/hot rod Caterham (from Ireland, I think). The flat black one.
  22. The rear fenders look to be dropped about a inch or so as well.
  23. I don't know anything about the car other than that it won it's BARC modified sports car class at Chicane in 1976. I dig it.
  24. I came across this photo of a 1970s racing seven with this wing-like orientation for the clamshells. I thought perhaps some builders may be interested in it. Personally, I think it looks great. http://www.racing70s.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/images/RoadSport/Lotus7bett.jpg
