Considering that the driver crossed over the center line and hit an oncoming car, it is interesting that the apparent damages are to the back of the Atom. He must have lost control and was already spinning before impact.

I think Lucky Dawg has picked it - he was spinning before impact. Not surprising given my observations of Ariel Atoms on track at speed - they are twitchy little beasts - only for the the experienced drivers please.

It looks like the car is mostly intact, but likely the occupants were not wearing helmets. It's too bad that some people insist on learning the hard lessons the hard way.
