If someone looking for a Caterham service in the Northeast, try http://www.aceperformancesystems.com/

He has done a few service on Caterham. His name Baer Connard a very nice person to deal with.

He currently owned the Ariel Atom dealership in the northeast & specialized on BMW performance too.

Oh, visit and check his new ZENOS ECOBOOST TURBO 2.3 -- he is about to assemble it.

Tell him Jamiee send you...hopefully he gives you discount on Atom....lol::

Pity that Tewksbury is so far north of me that it is not really feasible as a Caterham specialist is always good to see.

I found this article on the Caterham ECU and what they did to fix it quite relevant. Caterham should be selling unlocked ECUs in the US as unlike the UK its not as if we can just go down the road to our local dealer and get a tune up. We need flexibility to fix things outside of a (non-existent/non-responsive) US dealer network.

I had a good chat with him at one of the events at the Larz Anderson car shows in Boston. He'd been working on a 7 belonging to a guy who lives near to me.

Mike - I'll pick your 7 up next time I'm in town and I'll drop it off at his place if you like :-) Actually I'm driving down to NYC tomorrow for meetings / company 'holiday party' on Friday - might be a bit nippy driving a 7 this time of the year....

Loud and clear Mike. We also tune via an unlocked MBE 9A4 ECU, and have all the associated tools/etc. The standard ECU calibrations are *very* sensitive to initial roller-barrel/throttle-body position at idle, and associated TPS voltage. Fueling strategy is strictly Alpha-N for all but the smallest throttle angles. And the intuitive approach of simply adjusting the throttle "idle-stop" (or base roller-barrel aperture) to cure idle under-runs can really hurt off-idle throttle-response.

:iagree: Bruce - all my problems would be solved if you were on the right side of the country closer to me! I love the roller barrels on my car but geez they can be a pain to tune with a locked ECU complicating matters (although now I have some access).

Nice try Steve! You would have to go 2 hours further south for my Caterham since it is in the Garage Mahal this time of year. Hope you are leaving the July 4th long weekend free in 2016?

Nonsense, When my daily driver died I drove my Birkin from NH to NJ when it was 20°F. You just gotta bundle up!

I know that orange car!

Here it is in my driveway with its regular driver.
