scannon
Very detailed specs for the new C8. https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2019/08/27/leaked-mid-engine-c8-corvette-specs?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Daily_News_Thursday_August_29
panamericano
Does Croc already have one? Video of him shifting madly around Spa? That's a bunch of gears. Reminds me of the old Road Ranger 10 speed, but with no double declutching.
Croc
Does Croc already have one? Video of him shifting madly around Spa? No but he has considered the order options Likely will not happen since I have something else creeping along in the back of my mind. I want a Caterham at Spa - it would be more fun. Video of that already exists! A road spec Corvette ZR1 has done a 2min40 flying lap at Spa with a pro at the wheel. A RSR Porker GT3 did a similar time. My best in the 420R was 2min49 and there is more time to come off that with a better driver than me. The top version of the new Corvette should creep into the high 2min30s with the right driver. I still need to finish some of my basket case projects/money pits off so I can drive them again. Edited August 29, 2019 by Croc

Kitcat
I like your choice Shane. So far, I have been of the old-school opinion that the new C8 isn't a real 'Vette, or particularly desirable. Instead, it's an affordable NSX with 'Vette highlights. But I like your photo a lot. Its hard to teach us old dogs new tricks but it's starting to grow on me (a little). According to this, the new version weighs in at about 3550 lbs. Bigger is better these days? And the Z51 version doesn't get to 60 until 3rd gear? It's good the new tranny shifts so fast! Not mentioned here or elsewhere is the fact (I think) that mid engine cars have far less powertrain loss than front engine cars. Meaning that a higher % of hp makes it to the rear wheels. The mid engine layout is typically just touted as a step towards better balance or enhanced acceleration/deceleration potential.
