Brightonuk Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I have a superlite and a year ago decided to make it a little more aesthetically pleasing to drive around town in. I wanted a carbon fiber interior but getting and paying for the Carterham ones was out of the question so I opted for an ABS sheet with a Carbon Fiber finish. The original attempt looked OK but the sheet was way to thick and heavy so this time I opted for an .040 ultra lite sheet. Posted on LC7. https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/poor-mans-cf The drivers side bow was looking well beat up so I checked the cost of the Ultimate Carbon ones :ack: And then Caterham ones :ack::ack::ack: I am well pleased with the way these came out and basically free.
fastg Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Looks great, we're did you get the ABS sheet from? I men a cover foot the floor sill. Graham
Vovchandr Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 If the carbon matched a little better, it would be a tempting option. Don't forget there is always a vinyl option and the carbon matches much better
Ferrino Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I've been looking to fab some black rear wing protectors and I think ABS might be a great solution - thanks! Do you think the 0.04 thickness would work OK in this application?
Brightonuk Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 https://shop.decorativeplasticsheets.com/ But check Fleabay I think you will find a better match The .040 will work great for the wing protectors
Brightonuk Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Cause you will never know (if I had got the correct finish)
