There was a way to do that on my wife's Triumph TR4, but no way was I going to pursue that. The crank for a Seven would have to be really long...
wdb Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 The TR4 had a tractor engine, so it made sense.

Both the Triumph cars and the Ferguson tractor had versions of the Standard engine. Standard designed the engine for both uses from the beginning.
IamScotticus Posted November 15, 2025 Author Posted November 15, 2025 Oooooh! And it's BRG! With a yellow stripe, it will be very nice. Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-46-in-W-x-18-1-in-D-9-Drawer-Army-Green-Mobile-Workbench-Cabinet-with-Solid-Wood-Top-H46X18MWC9ARMY-M/332125777
IamScotticus Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 (edited) Verify happy to read in Low Flying interview wirh Cat CFO Trevor Steel, Jan 2026 pg. 11, that Montune in California will be the engine supplier for the U.S.A. market. I'm very happy to see they support the Kent based engines. I believe the smartest move Caterham could do is send us Crossflow chassis and let us build them. Aluminum head gurus rejoice! Another point is the diff. Live Axle? Whats still abundant here for parts and with performance options? Sierra IRS? Nope. BMW IRS? Nope. What then? C2-4 corvette? A little extra boot room for the diff wouldn't hurt. A Chevy part in a 7? The travesty! An early Vette iron case diff is around 100 lbs., but it's the only IRS diff I can think of that still has plenty of support in the USA. Edited March 7 by IamScotticus

Miata? Most sevens don't have a billion horsepower. There are tons of Miata cars and many Miata specialists.

I don't know Miata diffs. Westfield had a 7 kit for a Miata donor. Something Cat should have done. I wish we had more Flyin' Miata members here. https://usa7s.net/ips/topic/13517-danms-westfield-miata/ Is the Miata a clockwise rotation? Opposite of a Ford? Edited March 8 by IamScotticus
