Has anyone fitted this to a V6 T-9?

one one of the sellers websites there is a caution that it isn't compatible.

I wrote to inquire on the particulars.   The reply was that the seller didn't know, it was something a customer told him.

No experience on that, but it looks like it *could* fit - one would have to take the blanking plate off (a gentle tap from the inside does it). Also good to note, that all the moving parts would then be exposed to the elements.

My xr4ti shop manual says the forward one is reverse light switch, rear one is neutral safety switch

BUT  I wonder if that's right--other way round makes more sense

my box -from a merkur- does have a divot in the shift rod at the bottom of the front one, and the hole is threaded

Photo guide here.  Rear one is definitely the reverse light switch

Never seen any manual identify a usage for the forward boss.  Neutral safety switch does have a certain logic to it given the layout of the internals.  I wonder if it was used on one of its production car installations - definitely not Escort (s1 and s2) or Sierra.  May have been Capri or one of the Opels as I never owned those.

I’ve got a T-9 from a V6 and that boss isn’t there. The rear one is definitely for the reverse light. I use a GPS speedo that allowed me to tap and plug the speedo drive port. I. Also removed the drive gear. Every ounce counts!

I can confirm that at least for the T-9s on the merkurs (i suspect similar to the V-6)- the forward boss is for the neutral safety switch and rear is reverse light. I got my T-9 from a buddy of mine who has been a longtime ford/merkur enthusiast and the box came with those bits still attached.

Also- the reverse switch also fits on my Type-2 which for some reason didn't have one ( there was a yellow plug in the bung)
