Well, I just took the windshield off. I have to leave the posts on, otherwise I'll have no mirrors at all.

Introducing the Rotus "Aero Package"

BTW, if the car looks a little "bent", it's because the back passenger side of the hood doesn't quite fit snug :nonod:. Drives me crazy, but not crazy enough to fix it I guess.

Nice Seven!

I love driving w/o windshield, but I can only do it for about 45 minutes at a time and only on back roads - it's the wind that gets to me. Also, the idea of stones embedded in my forehead keeps me away from highways. I suggest taking a full face helmet as a backup.

Even with cycle fenders I get a lot of small stones in my lap (sticky tires) - you may find that's an issue for you too.

I do have a full face helmet on. I have about 5 hrs of driving on Saturday. I plan on wearing the helmet for the highway, and taking it off for the backroads.

Small stones aren't too bad. Windshield doesn't help with those anyway. Most of 'em hit me by bouncing off the rear fenders first.

Oh, and thanks for the compliment.

Mazda I just figured that is from all that torque your motor puts out.

I think the Brooklands screens make quite a bit of difference. One "problem" I had with my helmet was that there wasn't enough wind to blow the rain off the face shield, even with Rain-X on it.

A quick "pebble-poll" from the trip shows me getting hit with 6-7 significant gravel pcs, but another guy with windshield and clamshells got hit with 3-4. Most of them come from the side, from passing trucks. Some of my count could have been bugs, it's hard to tell.

My car has aero screens, and they are very effective. Leaning my head into the area between the screens lets me know that I need either aero screens or a windshield.

By the way, I ALWAYS wear goggles when driving. I wear "over-the-eyeglasses" Scott motorcross goggles. They do a great job of deflecting bugs and pebbles.

Here's a picture of mine. I am not sure it does much - above 60 mph, the wind buffeting is pretty intense. I am going to look into getting a larger one made.
