Please help; I'd like to "try on" an original sized Caterham in the DFW area.

I'm 6'1" with size 11.5 feet and 220 lbs. 38 waist.
I like the idea of a caterham in the SV size but have missed that recent opportunity.
There are many more standard sized cars available so I'd like to see if I fit before going further.
If I can drive it that would be cool and in turn you can drive either my Alfa Gulia Quadrofoglio or 996GT2 but just a test fit is fine.

Send me a PM if you can get to NW Dallas.  I have a regular S3 Birkin, but don't think it would significantly different from a Cat in terms of fit.  You are one step under me in all dimensions, so I'm guessing no problem.

The seat squab and back thickness can make a big difference. You may be satisfied with a just a layer of closed cell foam in order to fit. Pedal lengths can be altered to set the pad height to your ball height with shoe heals or there may be a heal board. Pedal pads can also be offset (with reduced dead pedal space). "Mods" could be new fabbed pieces versus modification of the original parts.

Lightguy - Don't know how a Stalker Classic M-Spec compares in size to a standard Caterham.  I'm 195, 6" and 34" waist.  My car has Kirkey bucket seats with not much padding.  It's pretty snug in the hips and chest but lots of room in length.  My seat is fixed and mounted about 6-8 inches from the cockpit back bulkhead and I have to reach to get the clutch fully depressed to activate the clutch/starter cut out to fire it up.  Send me a PM if you are anywhere near far SW Fort Worth.

The Birkin has 2” less leg room than the standard Caterham S3. Thanks to its overlarge (IMHO) standard seats, the Birkin further shrinks seating room. The Birkin has an odd(Again, IMHO)arm resting plan with one higher than the other(the arm resting spot heights on the Caterham are the same, so you don’t feel lopsided). I owned both simultaneously for about a year, so did lots of comparisons.

 

The Stalker is more like a SV version of the Caterham.

Holding out for a Cat S3 for now.

We'll see how it goes.

 

I was surprised at the white rock lake English car show this year had no 7's or clones at all.

There used to be a whole group.

Unfortunately, I am not close to you, but I am close to your weight and have the same waist. I am 5' 11" and do not have the seat all the way back. where I think you will have a problem is with your feet. The foot box is very small compared to other cars. It can take some getting used to. When you try a car make sure you try with your shoes off or very narrow flat shoes. If you have driving shoes use those. I have a 2000 S-3 Caterham.

Yes I talked to him but the car he had for quite awhile is sold and off to Oregon.
He then contacted a fellow with an SV model , which I prefer. but the price was more than I can justify.
