wdb
My Caterham has nifty looking aluminum "race" seats that probably weigh nothing. They also have zero thigh support due to the bottom section stopping just after one's butt; the result is leg discomfort on even the shortest drive. I'm considering biting off a chunk of wallet and sending it over to Caterham for a pair of their cloth seats, but I'd like to try them on for size before committing. So I'm reaching out to see if there is a forum member somewhere within reasonable distance of Kutztown PA, who has these seats or their equivalent. I am perfectly willing to do all the driving to meet up, and will toss in a meal and some friendly chat to sweeten the deal. Finally, if anyone is looking to part with seats please feel free to reach out! Thanks in advance. Here is what Caterham is offering on their site, and what I'm considering: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/4561-seat-cloth-s3-including-runners.html
wdb
For reference, here is a picture of the current seats.
MV8
For now, you might try a cheap, foam rubber yoga mat. Cut one piece to cover the inside of the lower pan and another about three inches wide for the front edge. Depending on the mat you buy, the pieces may grip each other to keep position. Just slip the foam under the upholstery. Layer and shape to suit with no permanent modification. Must be an optical illusion but it looks like the roll bar would hit me in my big fat head. If it's close, a light tap in the rear could be real bad for the noggin. Also, the 3 inch strip of mat goes under the full pan mat. Croc
@wdb I have the leather version of that seat in the passenger side of my Caterham. Only catch is I am over at Millville NJ which is probably further than you want to drive.

Yes I suppose I could just stuff a pillow under there for now, or equivalent. The rollbar is the "FIA" bar from the period (I think!) which is why it leans in. I'm not sure how it compares to newer bars in terms of clearances. Not sure what you're referring to re "3 inch strip of mat" or "full pan mat". My interior surfaces are bare-nekkid aluminum with the exception of the dash.

A section of material cut from a yoga mat that is trimmed to cover the full seat "pan" (red in pic). The smaller strip (blue) goes under the red. The idea is to provide some thigh and bottom support beyond what you get with the slip on yellow cover.
