Yoram Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 (edited) Hey Folks, Got an email today about this event with a short writeup. They have a website but it is not updated yet to reflect the new event. This has been a quite good near-annual car show and this year's venue is the best - it's the beautiful golf course next to the Embassy Suites Preserve at Verdae in Greenville. I thought it would be fun to have a small (or large?) contingent of Se7ens exhibited in a group. Registration has not started yet. It should not be too expensive - last time I exhibited (another car) a few years back I think it was $75. I sent an email to the organizers requesting to know when they will have the website updated and registration open so I can enclose a link in this thread. In the meantime it would be fun to know who all here might be interested to show their Se7ens, so please chime in. I plan on bringing mine. I will post here anything new I learn. Cheers, Yoram Edited October 9, 2024 by Yoram Postponement due to Helene aftermath
SENC Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Thanks Yoram! Keep us posted in future years, too. I'm out of pocket this year, but that would be a great one for a meet up and subsequent drive. 1
Yoram Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) Hello All, Just a reminder - this is a fun and laid-back car show held this year back on the beautiful Preserve at Verdae golf course in Greenville SC. You actually see some remarkable machinery there -- last time on the course I remember, among others, a magnificent Lamborghini Espada and a pristine (of course) 300SL Gullwing. I have registered to enter Yellow Jacket. There is still time to register until Oct 4th. So far not aware of another Seven being entered. Here is the link (once there, scroll all the way down for the Register button...): https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2024-euro-auto-festival-embassy-suites-preserve-at-verdae-126060?mc_cid=2f26111cc0 Please post here if you've registered or just planning to stop by and spectate. Cheers! Edited September 8, 2024 by Yoram
mrmustang Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) Plan to bring our 65 Sunbeam Tiger, looking forward to seeing your car there. Website is up and running: EURO Auto Festival Not the most intuitive, but it works. Bill S. Edited September 8, 2024 by mrmustang 1
SCse7en Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) You should bring your Tiger to the Charleston British car show on October 19th-they are featuring the Sunbeam Tiger and all Sunbeams with special things planned. Nearly 20 Sunbeams signed up so far. https://www.britishcarclubcharleston.com/BritishCarDay2024/BCD2024.html Of course all Sevens are welcome too! Edited September 9, 2024 by SCse7en

Have family in town for the week, so staying local is key to having everyone who wants to come out to the show do so, while everyone else can spend time downtown. Family always comes first. Bill S.

Should be at Cars & Coffee at Michelin on the 26th, uncertain what I'll be bringing at this time, but planning on bringing the Tiger or 289 FIA replica Bill S.

Beat me to it - I did get the email. I will plan on being at C&C too, if I get up in time... It's 8 to 11 am, huh? I'm not a morning person... Cheers.
Yoram Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 New Dates and Location: April 11-12 Hotel Hartness, 120 Halston Ave, Greenville, SC 29615. https://www.euroautofestival.com/ It's a bummer - we will not be able to participate due to planned travel. Hopefully a few 7's will be present. Cheers.
mrmustang Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Got the initial email, will figure out which of my two eligible cars I end up bringing. Bill 1

Yoram Posted Tuesday at 01:53 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 01:53 AM Anyone participated or spectated last Saturday? @mrmustang? @UglyFast? @SENC?

mrmustang Posted Tuesday at 02:10 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:10 AM (edited) UglyFast was there with the Purple people eater (#1), was a nice 67 "7" parked next to him. I was at the top of the hill directly in front of the VIP tent with our 65 Sunbeam Tiger (as requested by the organizers). Most likely, at least for me, this was a one and done type of event. Strange setup, even stranger show classes, I was paired up with Iso Griffo, which was the sexiest car there in my humble opinion, a few Chrysler Crossfires, a 57 Nash, a 68 Zimmer, a custom built Alpha based roadster race car, a 91 Lamborghini, one F40, one yellow Testarossa and two 308 Ferrari's. Again, a strange setup, the BMW and Porsche groups got the prime show field, 90% late model, a few 70's, 60's, 50's for the Porsche group, 3 Morgans (two 60's, one 2008 Aero coupe), 3 vintage XKE's (two convertibles, one coupe), 4 Panteras, a bunch of Triumph motorcycles, a few Fiats, new and old. A Unimog (black and lifted, looked sinister), and a bunch of vendors. Edited Tuesday at 02:13 AM by mrmustang highlights 1

Very surprised about all the BMW's and Porsche's - per this year's "Hybrid" (non-EV related) theme, there shouldn't have been any. Nor Jag's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's... In fact, last fall we were registered for the Friday "road rally", and for creature comfort reasons I wanted to bring our Holden (aka Chevy SS), which has some Opel vestigial elements as well as synergistic Aussie/NA engineering, but was told that it would not fit the Hybrid theme... Sounds like they got a bit desperate for participation and relaxed the admission criteria. At least you and J got to hang a bit I assume.

Sadly, saw him pull up and park, never got a chance to walk the 200 feet over to say hello before he walked away to socialize on the other side of the field. I rarely spent time by our car the whole day, so I get it. Sure we will all catch up later in the season. Bill

Joe Petty Posted Tuesday at 11:29 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:29 AM I try to setup a trip every year to a "destination" car show and this year I trailed my 7 up from Florida to the Euro Fest. Very well done by the organizers and of course beautiful weather! The "Hybrid" theme was kind of quirky, but brought out several cars I had only seen in pictures (NSU, Bitter, Scimitar...). Maybe these are common in the Greenville area, but that was part of the reason to travel and see something different. And, I got to meet Bill and J and put faces to fellow forum members! Great event and well worth the trip! Joe
