32eachtime Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I need help finding the correct Lifeline quick release steering wheel adapter for my 2006 Caterham 7. I’m setting up an alternate wheel from the Momo. The Lifeline quick release adapter that’s on the car with the Momo wheel has no numbers for reference. The current adapter is a 3 hole version. Thoughts on this please. Thanks for your help! John
JohnCh Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I'd ping Lifeline USA to confirm that their current 3-hole adapter will still fit your setup. Their phone number is in the upper right corner of the page: https://www.lifeline-fire.com/lifelineformulacarweld-onquickreleasesteeringadapter.aspx
MV8 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 Ditto. It sounds like you need a momo six hole "touring weld-on" adapter and have the three hole "formula weld-on". I expect the only difference is the hub pattern with the same weld-on shaft for both.

32eachtime Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 So I did contact Lifeline…easy to discuss and had the proper quick release adapter in 4 days. Awesome service! Thanks for the advice! 1
IamScotticus Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Piggybacking here. Who has the best QD that bolts up to the standard Cat steering column, that is a small hub for a 3 spoke Nardi type wheel? I've decided the Mountney is too small and heavy.
IamScotticus Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Meteor have a weld-on chrome moly plug. A very nice QR. But I am wanting a direct bolt-on to the Caterham splined shaft.
toldfield Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I bought the QR and top shaft from them. The QR is already attached to the upper column. Easy installation they are very nice to deal with. 1

IamScotticus Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 (edited) Wheel add this one https://www.go-race.co.uk/product-page/caterham-column-with-quick-release-boss there is/was a L7C discount with these Edited November 18, 2024 by IamScotticus
toldfield Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 No problems. There are some threads here about pulling it out. I made sure that the steering wheel lock was not engaged by turning the ignition on. Mine came right out. Some guys have had to use a bit of force. It is possible to damage the white plastic bushing that is in the dashboard so I bought a spare.
Reiver Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 What is the bolt pattern on the stock Caterham hub...anyone know.... like 50.8 m PCD 3 hole?
