I am happy to say I was able to make an offer on the 99' Birkin kit I have been looking at. I just have to find a way to get it home now.

Congradulations but the easiest way to get it home is to just write the check or pay cash......:jester:......could not help myself....had to reply......

When will you get some photos posted up so we can all see it and enjoy your new car as we all like them that much....

Yup, they are on backwards. The gentleman I purchased it from had three, and he quickly slapped on the wheels to move them around the shop. Only one wheel is on correctly.

I guess its time to introduce myself.

Name is Bill, I live in Calgary, Canada.

I was going to build a 7, when the one I have now came up for sale.

I bought it off a friend called Gavin who built the car and he lives near Edmonton, Canada.

Its a Ford V8 small block 302, with alloy heads and performance cam, Holley carb, T5 gearbox, Miata front hubs and steering rack. Ford 7.5" solid rear axle.

I use the car for fun/cruising and also Auto X.

Having a blast with the car and reliving my childhood over again to some extent.

Wife loves the car as well, so thats a plus.

Met up with lancylad and Z3 Stalker and all our better others on Friday 1st July and we all went for a Blat. Had a really good day, great cars and fantastic company, looking forward to the next blat.

cheers,

Bill

Name here is Bob, and I live high in the Davis Mountains of West Texas near a community named Fort Davis.

My location requires that I load my cars on a trailer and drive 20 miles where I unload, go to the car wash, then go driving. The only problem with living on a mountain top (6200') is the lack of roads to the pavement.

I've owned a 2006 Lotus BRG Elise for several years and have raced it in the Big Bend Open Road Race (bborr.com). I recently purchased a '96 Caterham Super Seven Sprint, 1600 Crossflow, from British Auto Specialties in Fort Worth. The car was raced for several years then stored, unregistered. Brit Auto got it in road worthy conditions for me, and I've registered it in Texas. Having fun driving it on local "paved" mountain roads. Looking forward to racing the Cat in the BBORR next spring.

The Cat is aluminum finish with BRG fenders, yellow nose cone, with BRg ring at front, Proxie R888s all around. Pics to follow.

Hey Bob, that's some dedication to se7ens! Car sounds great (once it reaches pavement). I didn't realize Texas had any hills over coupla hundred feet(:.

Hopefully, the BBORR is mostly curves, from one X-flow owner to another!

The BBORR is a rally type race, divided into varying speed classes. The road (Hwy 285) is totally closed to traffic in both directions. The course is 59 miles going south from Fort Stockton to Sanderson, with a pause for lunch on the courthouse square, then the 59 miles back to Fort Stockton. There are 59 curves in that 59 miles with a lot of elevation changes. Hardest thing is to get comfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road.

'Cause I'm an old guy, I race in the 90 mph class, where I came in second this year. However, I will try the 100 mph class next spring. It's a great race with great drivers (160) plus navigators, with lots of partying. Getting to drive as fast as you want with no hinderance from the police is a nice thing! Just pick your class between 85 mph and 150 mph, with unlimited above that. Highest race speed clocked last spring was 209.7 mph.

Lots of mountains to 8700' in the Big Bend/Trans-Pecos area.

Happy New Year guys from Sydney Australia. I'm newhere and wish you all the best.

I own a Aussie PRB, powered by Toyota 4age 20v Blacktop, microtech comp, T50 5sp and Toyota dif 4.11

Its nearly and every day car as I love just cruising, having raced Karts all my life, its a natural progression to a "7", feels the same.

As regard to our Bi-annual Nationals, the next will be in Sunny Queensland in 2013 (November) Maybe some of you would like to come over and get away from the cold. I'm sure you would enjoy and would garentee rides on out outings.

Take care,

Peter B :-)
