Bessie,

How about a progress report? Last time I visited Caterham USA you were AWOL. Speculation is that you have been kidnapped (Seven napped?) by Ben and locked up in his garage.

Is Al, you may remember him as the club President, locked in that garage too....

Will someone please go and unlock the door and let him out....

Well Good Morning to you two lovely old Possums! It is just wonderful to know that there are two sevening studs out there caring about little ol me! My chassis is just frissoning with delight!

Alas, alas, it is true. Ben is committed to finishing my loving restoration off. So I was moved from the old Custer Place Caterham location to a new Denver garage....so I am still here! The best bit is that I have wifi in the garage...makes posting so much easier. :)

So Ben may be committed to me but my loving owner should just be committed too - preferably to a quality institution for abusing a poor defenceless classy cougar lady like me! I mean honestly, he could not decide on how to get out of a wet paper bag! Last year I got painted and some bits were bought for me but were not installed because I was being painted. Most things are there to finish me off in just 2 months....so close but so far :bs:

Regretably our Clutz Prez is not here locked in with me. Mind you I have this cunning plan for when he steps into this garage - I plan to slide off my axle stands, pin Al to the ground and steal his wallet so I can just finish myself off without him needing to make any decisions...what do you think? :p

Thats all for now!

Love and Kissies

Bessie

Bessie-

Alas...I've been out of commission for a while now dealing with the aftermath from another lady, a real harridan named Irene. If you've ever dealt with FEMA, the DEP or EPA, you know that the process of clean up and restoration can be long, tedious, and expensive.

The good news is that I'm also 100% committed to finishing your rebuild. And sooner, rather than later! In fact, Laura and I were hoping to come out in the summer and drive you home.

To this end, I left a few messages for Ben this week. Hopefully he'll get back to me soon.

Faithfully yours,

Al Navarro

To all the clubbers who know me, I'm alive! Laura and the girls are well. Sorry I've been off the forum for so long. Rolling up on the 5 year anniversary of 7-7-7. Good times! BTW, if you ever need to get in touch with me, the al at mintadv.com address is the best method....Skip, I saw that you had used the forum to send a note earlier this year....I only just saw it now, sorry.

Its Al-baby! How are you sweetie! I missed you! kissies!

First things first. Who is this bitch called Irene that has been beating you up and can I run her over for you? Blacken her hairdo with a little soot from my all-too-rich carbies? Just say so and she will have a new skid marks where the sun don't shine!

As for being driven by you in summer - I can hardly wait. I can always make sure my passenger seat is broken so we have to leave Laura behind? I am a rather possessive woman you know :p

Bessie and Al,

Good to hear from both of you! Also good to hear you and your family are alive and well.

I had dealings with FEMA after the Northridge earthquake and know what you are going through. Never again will I accept money from them.

Let me know when the happy reunion is ready to take place and we'll plan a proper party to celebrate.

I'm a medical courier, drive about 400 miles a night, four days a week. I hold a BA in History, with a minor in Appalachian Studies. I live near Lexington, KY in the area where the Derby winners are put to stud. Nice country with twisty lanes. Always single, never married.

I first got interested in Sevens when i switched from reading Hot Rod and Car Craft to Car and Driver and Road and Track when i was a high school freshman in 1975. I saw a Seven in a C/D article and my curiosity was piqued. Been following them ever since.

I drive a minivan for the company, I've full use of it, business and personal. My own cars are a 1964 Karmann Ghia and a 2008 smart cabrio.

I gained a taste for simplicity when i took my Light Sport lessons in a Piper Cub a few years ago. Driving the Ghia has reinforced that. I'm ore involved and enjoy driving more in it, although I won't win any drag races. The appeal of a Seven in its combination of simplicity, competence, and involvement. It's about perfect.

Not sure what direction I'll go toward a Seven. I'm open to a used factory example, but I'm also finding building an "historic" replica to my own taste mighty intriguing. I'm investigating, so either a kit, or Locost route is a possibility...

There are a few locost owners in your neck of the woods. You need to get together with them and get a ride. Then you will be hooked for life. Welcome to the group. PM sent to you, Russ

Hello everyone,

I joined USA7S today after lurking for some time.

I am currently trying to purchase a Seven (Caterham, Stalker, Birkin, etc.).

If you have any leads on nice cars, please feel free to pass them along. I'm looking for a well built car with modern running gear and electrics. My one definite must have is left hand drive. Budget seems to be a problem at 25k max... I would prefer buying from private owners, but will consider fairly priced dealer cars.

I would like to get rides with any nearby owners who are willing. I am located in Northern Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.).

A member of this board gave me a ride in his Stalker, which pretty much got me hooked on this perverse path to owning a totally impractical vehicle...

Looking forward to hearing from you all,

Tony Leventry

Hello, my name is Chuck and I live in the far west suburbs of Chicago. I've been a lurker here on and off for a while. As you can probably tell by my handle, I have built a rotary powered Locost based on Ron Champion's book. After several years in the building stage, I got it licensed last year and have been enjoying it ever since.

Some of you know already know me as I have been to the last 2 Midwest Gatherings. This is a photo of my wife, me and my car at the 2012 Gathering.

Thanks for the compliments. I spent most of my time over on the LocostUSA.com site as they are better aligned to the DIYer. I have a loooong build site over there.

http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4145

The car was built using a single-donor '91 Mazda RX7. Engine, trans, brakes, wheels, instruments are all from the donor. This was to be a learning experience. It is powered by a rebuilt (my first) Wankel engine using a Megasquirt controller (built by me). The MS controller controls both spark and fuel, along with the 5th and 6th aux ports, the OEM 2-speed fuel pump and the cooloing fan. The engine intake is custom designed to keep the bonnet a simple flat shape without any scoops, as the original Seven was. Here is an older photo of the engine.

The build is never done, I am currently in the process of making a one-piece hardtop that is hinged on the roll bar.
