Marking its territory this morning.

Tech inspection is under way.  5 year tire rule catching flak this morning.

Driver briefing ongoing.

We just polished off the usual spectacular lunch.  Track day luxury for the participants.  
 

Driver fails are a pretty lengthy list this year: 

 

1) Simon corded his tires.  Two spins on track.  New tires installed. 

2) Paul failed tech on 6 year old tires since manufacture.  Now running used Miata race Hoosiers that TJ scrounged up.  

3) Vlad lost a center cap off his wheel - super rare.  He’s out with the track director looking for it in the grass.  The tech instructions did say remove center caps…

 

4) Des failed tech on no battery tie down.  No covers for the battery terminal.  Too high for roll bar (seat base now removed).  No long sleeves so he is now wearing my hoodie.  

5) Blake has delaminated his fronts - now the great tire switcheroo is underway.  

6) Graham broke a throttle lever on track in the last session and spent time chatting to the turnn2 track Marshall. - TJ is doing a weld job right now.  
 

…and it’s only 1.30pm on Day 1!  

 

Track is in great condition.  Other open wheeler drivers are being nice.  Weather is warm and sunny/overcast.  Perfect.
