My older son, Cameron has been in the hospital for 3 days now, fighting an infection and abescess in his tunsils. :blueangel:

Between that, work going crazy, and shuttling Ryan around, we're freaking worn out :ack: :ack:

It's 9:30 in the morning but feels like 11 PM already.

Time for a

Peritonsilar abscess is a concern .. often requiring surgery to incise and drain. I hope that he gets to feeling better soon .. may he enjoy ice chips and maybe soon ice cream! :blueangel: :grouphug:

I had mine removed when I was 5 to solve an ear drainage issue that would cause constant ear infections. It hurt for a day or two after the op, but I had the Road & Track World's Fastest Cars special issue waiting for me in my room (Thanks Dad), so hospital time passed quickly. And did I mention ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Children are much more resilient than you think... wishing all of you a speedy recovery!

So sorry to hear about your sons illness. I had mine taken out at 6 dont remember much about it. I do remember eating all the ice cream I could hold down. My wife still has hers but they give her trouble all the time. We will wish him a quick recovery and add him to our prayers. Loren

Well, things were really looking up today. Last night after a 2nd CTScan, they decided to change antibiotics, and he responded really well. Temps went away. So we were really hopeful about his progress. But about half an hour ago, his temps started climbing again :banghead:

Mazda,

Hope Cameron starts feeling better soon and you can get back to a "normal" family life. We'll keep you guys in our thoughts and prayers...

Hang in there, Bruce

Mazda,

Very sorry to hear about this. It's frustrating when it feels like 3 steps forward, 2 steps back.

Will be thinking of you and your family and hoping for a speedy recovery for you son.

Talked to Mazda and Cameron today and it sounds like Cameron is doing much better!

He's up and about and his spirits seem pretty good. Mazda said they'll keep him till Thursday due to the IV, but they think he's made it past the worst of it. :) :)

Just thought I'd let you guys know
