Looking to install the 2nd level track day roll bar on the 360R.  Plenty good info for the install of the bar itself, but I’m wondering about moving the third brake light to the new bar.

Any guidance will be appreciated.  Just looking at the factory third brake light there is no obvious way to remove it.

I realize there may be no easy swapover or even a not easy swapover but I’d sure like to have this fine 3rd brake light stay on the car,

I have reached out to Beachman about how to remove this nice light.

My only ideas are light heat gun and really good Dental floss.

I wouldn't use heat on the lens/LED. I would use floss or a plastic scraper. Keep in mind you're doing that not in between the alu base and the bar but between the alu base and the light unit. The alu base is screwed into the bar.

I would have eventually figured that out.  Thanks for the info, would take a lot of floss to get through those screws.

Development.   I thought the third light CHMSL on the newly built car was OEM.  It looks that way. Should have been my warning it might not be stock.

Seriously this is a nice looking piece that works great.

I only today took wrappings off the track day bar and realized the main bar tube is a smaller diameter than the standard bar.  Turns out there are two sizes of these nice lights to fit these different diameter bars.

💡 💡💡 This means the light on the car now is incompatible with the new bar.  So no reason to remove it.  Which means it might be easier to find a new home for my current setup.  I’ll have available a standard bar with this nice CHMSL mounted and wired.  Wire enters on left and has a proper rubbery grommet.

I’m going to contact Beachman. Anyone else use this light?  And especially, has anyone run three of these lights on the main bar?  I’m going to do this if it’s feasible electrically.

I have a brake light kit from @das76. It’s super easy install and gives you options for placement.  I originally was going to put something on the upper rollbar but got nervous about drilling into the bar.  The led strip might not be as clean an install as Bruce’s. But it looks proper enough (imho).  (Note: I did have a led strip burn out a few leds but switching out the strip was easy enough). Great functionality with driving, turn and brake lights.

I mounted mine lower on the vertical bars to make it a clean install and also to not be blocked by the half hood when installed.

Depending on your locale, the in dual light install from the das76 light kit may not be legal.   As much as I like the look of that kit, I had to use something different.

My Maryland inspection required a single central light.  I went with the JAL third brake light kit which was exceptionally simple to add.

just as an FYI, ours can be mounted on the top of the rollbar too (pic below), and if you want them to look more like 1 light put them in the center butting up against each other, or just use 1 light (1/2 the price). You can also be sneaky and use them in the center to pass inspection and then move them after.

@demoray thanks, sorry you couldn't use them.... However if you did want the added safety of additional vertical indicators you could also install our lights and we can wire them with Indicators only.
