  1. I've had an issue getting gas only once in my CSR, and it was entirely my fault. Someone came up while I was filling up and asked me questions, and I kept going after the first click like I was filling up a regular street car. Excluding that one exception, I've had no issues in MD, VA, and NY.
  2. Earlier this year, I put a few gallons of 91 when I was nearly out and that was the only thing available in my 260. It ran like garbage. No knocking I could detect, but it had a far rougher idle. After a full cycle of 93, it went away. I won't be doing that again if I can help it.
  3. I wear a pair of Wiley X Gravity sunglasses, with the removable head strap and foam gaskets, through Sport RX with my eye glasses prescription. This is the best compromise I've found for visibility, keeping the dust and wind out of my eyes, comfort, and meeting ISO safety standards for impact resistance. They look a little too tacticool, but they are *really* good for what I need. These are highly rated by motorcyclists, who suffer some of the same environmental issues we face. For sun protection, I've found I rather like the fit and finish of the Rabbit UPF hoodies, available through REI. For a hat, my spouse found me a foldable baseball cap with UPF protection that I can tighten enough that it won't fly off as long as I'm under 70mph. Higher than that, I'll take the hat off.
  4. I believe this is the Soft Bits For Sevens half hood with the "easy in" zip sections undone. This is what those look like zipped up.
  5. My diligent guard dog is helping me redo the front headlight wiring.
  6. It should look like this. First is with the nose cone on, and then the second is with the nose cone off.
  7. At a recent Cars & Coffee, the organizers parked me between a Silver Shadow and a 458 Italia.
  8. I own a CSR260. I imagine that long term, we'll be better served by having a distinct thread for distinct topics.
  9. I'm looking to have the beeline like experience on my watch. Maps has an arrow mode, which I've used, but I've not had good success importing GPX files with Google Maps in the past.
  10. Very cool. I put a quick route from near home to a place that has cheap burger specials. This looks pretty straight forward to use. If it's vibe coded, care to share it on GitHub? I'm looking to do something related. I'm looking to build the other side of this, an app that shows the turn by turn akin to BeeLine that runs on Google Watch that supports GPX. Can users see other people's public routes? Can users import routes from other sources?
  11. Blipshift, a "Crowdsourced car shirts, apparel, and accessories" site has a 7 shirt available for the next few hours. The way blipshift works is that people submit designs. Chosen designs are made into swag that is available for a limited time, usually a few days, and the artist gets a cut of every shirt made. Blipshift had had multiple 7 related shirts in the past, and this one is currently available for the next 17 hours. https://www.blipshift.com/products/yeehaw-2
  12. What do you use for numbers? On previous cars, I used magnets which won't work for the 7.
  13. Any idea what UTQG they are going after for their DOT compliance?
  14. Can confirm. My daily is an ND. My Caterham is a much more visceral and engaging experience but it's not tenable to drive hundreds of miles in a single session without significant breaks. With my Miata, we drove from Louisville to DC in a single session, only stopping briefly for restrooms and gas.
  15. I pushed mine outside so I could use the leaf blower to clean out of the garage.
  16. For some, it's the journeys of building rather than the destination of having.
  17. I got vanity plates with what I've taken to calling my 7.
  18. I met up with CarlB this evening and tried out his seats. (Thanks again!) Interesting enough, he lives about two miles as the crow flies from where I grew up. I fit in the Tilletts now, though I would not have a year ago. I'll be figuring out where to order them this coming week.
  19. If possible, I'd love to have them installed before then so I can use them that day.
  20. I'm looking to replace the leather seats in my Caterham (sv chassis) with a seat more appropriate for a 6 point harness. Does anyone within a 2-3 hour radius of Washington DC have tillett seats, preferably the B6 Screamer model, that I can sit in? Before I spend what looks like $3k before shipping and tariffs, I'd prefer to see if I actually fit in the seats and find them comfortable.
  21. The seller, Brian Garfield, of the trailer from the Facebook screenshot is one of the louder voices pushing for the SCCA's XU class, which is where 7s on Street tires fit. We're planning on building a new garage to store our future trailer (and a few other vehicles), at which point I'm strongly considering buying one of these.
  22. Similar to @toldfield, I did the calculations and found that paying an auto transporter was more cost effective.
  23. It's good to hear your positive outcome. Was that Honda S800 coupe as pretty as they look online? I've never had the opportunity to see one in person, but love the look in photos.
  24. I took a rock to the chest at 60mph on the highway in my sand rail years ago. After that, I'll never run without either a full windscreen or full face helmet.
  25. It's a rare day when I'm out in my 7 that I don't get asked what I'm driving. I've simplified what I say to something basically like this: "it's a Caterham 7. Originally designed in the late 50s by the founder of Lotus to enable them to go racing. They are available with a number of different engines. Mine has a rather spicy 2.3 litre Duratec, built by Cosworth."
