  1. Blipshift, a "Crowdsourced car shirts, apparel, and accessories" site has a 7 shirt available for the next few hours. The way blipshift works is that people submit designs. Chosen designs are made into swag that is available for a limited time, usually a few days, and the artist gets a cut of every shirt made. Blipshift had had multiple 7 related shirts in the past, and this one is currently available for the next 17 hours. https://www.blipshift.com/products/yeehaw-2
  2. What do you use for numbers? On previous cars, I used magnets which won't work for the 7.
  3. Any idea what UTQG they are going after for their DOT compliance?
  4. Can confirm. My daily is an ND. My Caterham is a much more visceral and engaging experience but it's not tenable to drive hundreds of miles in a single session without significant breaks. With my Miata, we drove from Louisville to DC in a single session, only stopping briefly for restrooms and gas.
  5. I pushed mine outside so I could use the leaf blower to clean out of the garage.
  6. For some, it's the journeys of building rather than the destination of having.
  7. I got vanity plates with what I've taken to calling my 7.
  8. I met up with CarlB this evening and tried out his seats. (Thanks again!) Interesting enough, he lives about two miles as the crow flies from where I grew up. I fit in the Tilletts now, though I would not have a year ago. I'll be figuring out where to order them this coming week.
  9. If possible, I'd love to have them installed before then so I can use them that day.
  10. I'm looking to replace the leather seats in my Caterham (sv chassis) with a seat more appropriate for a 6 point harness. Does anyone within a 2-3 hour radius of Washington DC have tillett seats, preferably the B6 Screamer model, that I can sit in? Before I spend what looks like $3k before shipping and tariffs, I'd prefer to see if I actually fit in the seats and find them comfortable.
  11. The seller, Brian Garfield, of the trailer from the Facebook screenshot is one of the louder voices pushing for the SCCA's XU class, which is where 7s on Street tires fit. We're planning on building a new garage to store our future trailer (and a few other vehicles), at which point I'm strongly considering buying one of these.
  12. Similar to @toldfield, I did the calculations and found that paying an auto transporter was more cost effective.
  13. It's good to hear your positive outcome. Was that Honda S800 coupe as pretty as they look online? I've never had the opportunity to see one in person, but love the look in photos.
  14. I took a rock to the chest at 60mph on the highway in my sand rail years ago. After that, I'll never run without either a full windscreen or full face helmet.
  15. It's a rare day when I'm out in my 7 that I don't get asked what I'm driving. I've simplified what I say to something basically like this: "it's a Caterham 7. Originally designed in the late 50s by the founder of Lotus to enable them to go racing. They are available with a number of different engines. Mine has a rather spicy 2.3 litre Duratec, built by Cosworth."
  16. I agree that the two color wall mockups look pretty sweet.
  17. I'll be replacing the oil catch can with a unit I bought from Mocal, but I have to fabricate a new bracket to mount it. Investigating replacing my harnesses is on the short list as well, such that I will be ready for the usa7s outing at NJMP.
  18. Put it on my calendar as well. Time to start prepping my 7.
  19. The Northern Virginia Lotus Club had a "Get Your Lotus Out" meetup today, with *37* lotuses in attendance, including five 7s.
  20. Have you read the tariff paperwork? Multiple lawyers I've interacted from both sides of the pond are struggling to understand how things fall out. It's an inconsistent, complicated, and fluctuating mess.
  21. Apparently there are two 7s in the inbound RORO of the Baltimore port at the moment. My brother-in-law sent me these this morning. (Deleted unsupported files)
  22. A family member that works in the docks saw it as well. They said it was in the RORO area from Japan.
  23. I wear a pair of Wiley X Gravity prescription sunglasses from Sport RX. They have impact rating, a removable foam gasket which reduces impact from wind/dust, and a removable elastic strap to keep them secure to my head. These are *much* better than any other sunglasses I've used for reducing strain from wind. The styling is a bit too "tacticool" for my taste but they are exceptionally good at what I need them for, so I deal with it.
  24. Depending on your locale, the in dual light install from the das76 light kit may not be legal. As much as I like the look of that kit, I had to use something different. My Maryland inspection required a single central light. I went with the JAL third brake light kit which was exceptionally simple to add. https://justaddlightness.co.uk/product/caterham-7-high-level-led-third-brake-light/
