This came to me amidst the mountain of spares that came with my Elan. It doesn't seem to line up with anything on that car. I've asked the Elan forum for input but so far no luck. So I got to thinking, maybe it fits the 7? Both cars came from the same seller. Offhand I don't see a match but I'm open to ideas. (He also had an aircooled 911 but that was a coupe.) The fixing hardware is distinctly English in nature.

some sort of boot cover?

I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't look like your typical tonneau that covers the driver and passenger seats. TR3, Morgan? Can you contact the seller?

Odd it doesn't have more snaps along the middle of the front/back.  Goes over a folding top, hence the "shoulders" outboard of the flat center section?  Like for a Miata, but not.

Miata. Hmmm. He has one of those too. I think I’ll take it with me the next time I visit.

The thlot pickens. He had a couple of 356 Porsches prior to the Elan. I've looked online and they used the same kind of hardware as the English cars of the period. I'm off to check with those wizards.
