Hey Folks,

is it difficult to take off the dash. looking at my car i see some rivets on the bottom and also on the top, where the dash meets the body. how do you get the tops rivets out? they look like you cant fit a drill in because the body is in the way. is there anything else you have to take off, and is it difficult. i want to get the carbon dash, that why im asking.

TIA

Tell us about yourself and your car (with pics) before we hand you the rope. How did you get this car? Tell us a story. :classic_biggrin:

for what it's worth . When I built my 7 ,service was #1 with me , . I built the dash assembly off the car, all the electrical was with 4 disconnect plugs ,1 bolt for steering , 6 ,1/4 inch pop rivets ,3 on each side holding it to the body . It was even painted before I installed it

If I ever have to pull the engine ,trans, take off the dash, 10 minutes . Then unbolt the engine and if comes out with out lifting the car .Every bolt is easy to get to and no ultra tight fitting

A photo of your dash and the type of Seven you have would help. I'm assuming it's a Caterham but I think there were other brands that offered a carbon dash.

What I do with all my scuttles is drill out the front firewall rivets and replace them with aluminum rivet nuts and screws.  Makes the top access much easier.  Since you will be drilling and riveting on the dash, you might as well do this job too.
