Driving shoes

Just got my pair in the mail. Haven't had a chance to drive with them yet, but I am already impressed. Nice construction, attractive, very lightweight, and provide a high degree of sensitivity. A cursory examination show that they are nearly 3/4 an inch narrower than my Teva's, and about 1/2-1/3 and inch narrower than my running shoes, and despite this, they are as comfortable as a pair of slippers (they are a size 7.5).

 

What kind of shoes you fellas have to wear to get your feet to fit?

I wear regular shoes, and I have found that my go pedal can overpower my stop pedal.

I've got size 7.5/8 feet, so I've driven the Seven wearing workboots no problem. I did have a pair of Adidas driving shoes, the Tuscanys. I also notice that Puma Cats seem to be popular among the folks I know. I've thought about pilotis, but think they are just to racer for my tastes. Currently my "dedicated driviing shoes" are Puma S-Bahns, but only because they were on sale.

 

Again, I have small feet so I pretty much wear anything...frequently my Garmont trail shoes. The only shoes I've had issues with are running shoes which have a wider than normal sole.

As my feet are a size 12, I have to wear narrow shoes. Boat shoes work,

but my current favs are Puma Speedcats, which are not only very

comfortable (and give good feel), but also have some street cred with

my Teenager and her friends.

I have pretty small feet - 9 US - but drive in Bell racing boots (had them left over from my hill climbing escapades in the UK).  I can drive in one other pair of casual shoes, but the feel i get with the race boots is fantastic, and after all, isn't that one of the reasons we drive se7ens?  Sensory overload is how someone once described the se7en and i think touch is one of those senses!

When autocrossing I drive with my right shoo off. I have a size 13 foot and even my Simpson racing shoes sometimes get confused with the gas/brake pedals. I even cut half the brake pedal face off.

I have size 11.5 and used to drive with my crosstrainers (the Westfield has a big pedal box) but last year I switched to Puma Speedcats and now only drive the car with those shoes. I find the rolled heel of a driving shoe is a lot more comfortable when seated as low as I am in the Westfield.
