Rolled onto 23.073 this weekend (200 miles in 11 days, looking good). And I missed out on the 200 mile blat today.

Oh and southwind my alloy is dusty, I have my right front wing underside covered in mud as the rear fender and pollen dust all over the spare. Not to metion all bugs on the windshield who have given their lives for me to have a good time. Quit poilishing and drive, you are making me look bad, with your great car.

Gentlemen...we put on a few more smiles-miles this weekend.

Found out some vital things too. The 1600 Xflow is a wonderful little engine,,but sadly underpowered.

The car struggles to get much past 100mph at the moment.

Confirmed webers are runing a bit rich on the top but lean at idle...uhhh, i think maybe? they backfire a bit on idle. They surely are not S.U's. Also whoever told me that the car would be smeared with oil down the side behind the webers,,,ok you win. But waxing is more theraputic than reading a good book.

People will follow you places, just to ask you about the car, and we had 1/2 dozen cell phone pictures taken of us around town while driving. must be the yellow.

Needs better brake pads.

This car is a complete pleasure! How fun!! Yeah we need to change the avatar,,the wheels will stay as is.((maybe someday pansports)).. The Falkens are the ZIEX style with huge raingroove in the center. i think i will use them for my boat trailer when i change over.

I am getting nowhere in this "contest" as my car has been in the shop for 2 weeks awaiting a solution to the starter issue (wh/we think we have found). It is definitely easier to accumulate miles when your car starts.

My wife is out of town next Thurs-thru the following Monday. So my challenge will be to see how many mile I can drive the Seven in that time period:). Assuming the car starts.

Robert-my car has the same 100 mph top speed. I think the challenge for us is to see how much fun we can pack between 0-100 mph. So far, my best moments have been like your last trip at relatively low speed.

The most glorious was one early Sunday a.m. blat wherein I got caught up in a rural school system's fund raising walk-a-thon. So there I was put-putting along at about 10 mph, passing thousands of 5-15 year old kids walking next to the road. Every little guy was absolutely flipping out over my car! I would blip the throttle for effect occasionally and they loved it. Never saw so many smiles, thumbs up and applause in my life. Felt like I was one of the Beatles.

Drove it to work today (32 mi) brrrrrr...fun!

I wanted to try out the new clear wind wings i made. The smoked plex ones that came with the car were too dark to use the side mirrors. New clear ones cost 125$ :ack:

So 13$ lexan sheet at lowes i cut and bent myself look stock and work fine.

cold tires are slippery..hehehe.

oh. fwiw the starter on mine has to be the loudest starter i have ever heard. well...besides the starter on my other 711 block ginetta which is just as loud. whats with the starters on these small block fords? cripes.

Still in the garage awaiting a starter, don't rub it in:(.

Turns out, a starter is an incredibly exotic part on my car. After many trials and errors, calls and postings and parts that didn't fit and repairs that didn't work, I ordered a replacement solenoid from England thru RMSC Fri afternoon, air freighting to Cincy, hopefully here by Tuesday.

Jeez, and it's 70 and sunny here!

500+ miles yesterday alone. Nothing like a starter that works!

Next weekend's track day is 320 miles round trip, plus the miles at the track, so I am piling up the #'s.

Hey Al & Mazda, what about a "favorite drives" section for roads that are particularly Sevenesque? I found two yesterday in southeast Ohio.

"500+ miles yesterday alone." - I'm impressed!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to drive that far at some point, but I'm going to have to do something about the stock Birkin seats first.

yeah they are positivly aweful :ack:

temporarily (read : budget is going other places at the moment) we took off the covering from the seat bottom and repadded it, then made a spacer under the front seat mounts to tilt it back about 5 degrees more. These are not good answers to the problem as there is still NO side support and the contour is still all wrong..but it's at least tolerable. :skep:

this will be a good week roadwise in ohio...warm and dry! oh yes...lets post those se7en roads!

kitcat great to hear she's started and running..see you on theose southeaster ohio roads this summer?

?

I may run out there, However, did not sign up for the event. If the weather is decent, I will drive the Stalker out to observe. I have several friends that are doing the event including a new SuperStalker owner from Indy.

I don't think we met at 7-7-7 but looking forward to meeting you Monday.

You can follow on http://www.onelapofamerica.comthey post the results daily. But a day behind. I will follow along and keep everyone posted as the week progresses. I will meet Kevin and Michelle his co driver this year at TWS and get a load of info to report on. There is a blog section on our website http://www.organicracing.com

We have tried to update it from the road in the past and it is really difficult to do but, I think they are going to give it a try we will see.

Southwind25, you are welcome to borrow my 2'nd set of seats to try for a few weeks or so. They have plenty of side support. If I ever run them again I'l likely make some changes to them.
