John Coombs
I'm having to sell my Birkin as I need additonal space to undertake a new project. Thought I would be OK but turned out not to be the case. The car was purchased in 2003 from LA Fox Auto,South Elgin Illinois (Birkin importers). The car has a Califonia Title. It has a 2.0L DOHC 16V Ford ZX3 Zetec Engine with the following upgrades. Dunnell Intake Manifold. VGS 40mm Fuel Injected throttle bodies with larger volume injectors. VGS Fuel Rail. VGS air velocity stacks with ITG foam air filter with quarter turn fasteners. Fuel pressure regulator. Pectel T2 harness with ECU fully programmable with the ability to map and monitor all parameters such as fuel and air curves via communication port on dash. Plug and play action with use of computer lap top. ( All software and cords to be included.) Focus Central under drive pulley system including balance(drive pulley) water pump pulley and alternator pulley. Aluminum high volume baffled racing oil pan with pick up. Low resistance alternator with new timing belt cover and easy to use access belt tensioner. Compact Aluminum starter motor. Aeroquip fuel lines and connectors. Aeroquip Lower chamber breather set-up with ventilated oil catch can. SPF performance blue silicone water hoses with billet aluminum flush mount connections. Raceline water rail. Performance Distributor "Screamin Demon" coil pack and 10mm "Livewire" spark plug wires. Birkin Individual header tubes with 4 into 1 collector. Oil filter relocator with aeroquip lines/connectors. Mocal 13 row oil cooler with aeroquip lines/connectors. Siera type 9 five speed gearbox. The car has a carbon fiber dash and switch panel with toggle switches and push button start. Merit master battery cut-off switch with alternator protection. Quarter turn quick release fasteners on nose cone and rubber draw latches on the bonnet/hood. PI Research C-Dash which allows you to read and record on board information. 15 inch Kosei K1 Racing wheels with Pirelli P7000 tires (Including spare). I now live in Mariposa, California and any inspection is welcome. I'm asking $35,000.00 for the car, which I believe is a fair price. twestrup
I am probably showing my level of ignorance, but what is the antenna looking thing sticking vertically from the nose?
John Coombs
It was just a radio ariel put on by my son which I removed and replaced with the Birkin Badge. He thought I would like it ( He was Wrong) Thought it looked like a F1 car with this add-on.

John Coombs
Just to say that I have sold my Birkin. Many thanks to those who took the time to look at this post.
Al N.
Damn, that was quick! It was a nicely spec'd and finished car, and (if you got somewhere near your asking price) commanded a premium over what many other S3s have traded for recently. I guess it's all a matter of finding the right buyer.
legatho
John- you will have to let me know if the car went to a good home! -Tom
oilteq
and (if you got somewhere near your asking price) it was still cheaper than a lot of cars that are not nearly as quick.
legatho
Anyone stay in contact with John or know where this car went? I am the original owner/builder... just curious.
slomove
John lives in Mariposa, CA now. I believe he traded his Birkin somewhere to a guy in the Midwest who wanted to have a more practical car. Not a shabby trade-in, though......if he succeeds it might be the only street-legal Lola (replica) of that kind. http://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/upload/458769105_P1000853.jpg http://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/upload/606570870_P1000854.jpg
Stokked
I am now the owner of this car! It's found a good home here in Iowa. I just wish we had the canyon roads and year-round "seven" weather some of you out west have! I'm hoping for 1 or 2 more driving days before snow flies, but it's not looking too good for that right now. -Delayne

pi7ot
As of last saturday, There has been some sanding and deicing slime applied to the major arteries in Eastern Iowa. m
Stokked
Slomove - no, I did not own the Lola. The Birkin was briefly owned by a guy up in Michigan who has lot's of toys, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Lola came from him. Pi7ot - I'm in central Iowa (Ames). We haven't had any sanding/deicing yet, but there are snow flakes in the air this morning. -Delayne

Stokked
Thanks Jack! I'm starting to look for a trailer so I can haul the Birkin to things like Run n Gun, track days & autocross next year. I still like the Stalker, and still have a thought that at some point in the future when I have more time and more space I might build one. But this car was so nicely built, I couldn't pass it up. Plus, it fits me like a glove! I think I'll have a lot of fun with it. Hope all is well in Indy. Best regards, -Delayne
Mondo
RCR makes a nice Lola replica http://www.race-car-replicas.com/rcr70_photo_album.html not a bad price if you got a small block & transaxle lying around...
