Whose car is fastest?

Does anyone have any 1/4 mile times they would be willing to share?

There are some numbers here and there from the "Dyno Grand Prix" but little from the real world.

The dyno specs on the Demon and the West Texas One-Lapper under construction look amazing.

I am sure some of the Stalkers, Dick Brink's maroon Birkin, the Caterham 260's, Ultralights, BEC's, etc.,etc. are all quick. But who's quickest?

Of course, the world awaits the results of Frankenstein's performance, especially now that it has been removed from its dungeon in West Virginia:).

Since I have an underpowered Crossflow, I am also interested in who owns the slowest, backed up by actual time sheets, of course. Seems to me that the car mags tested my version at 88 mph trap speed, low 15's, back in the day.

I'd love to see Al's numbers at the drag strip, someone coordinate that soon please:). A Superlite like his was tested at 13 flat thru the 1/4 mile and 103 mph thru the traps in a roadtest I read a while back.

There are some Caterham road tests reprinted on the RMSC site. One is of the standard 147 hp engine (wh/probably makes 115 hp at the rear wheels). It did 92 mph thru the trap as I recall. When tested by Car & Driver, the 260 Caterham went 113 mph thru the trap with a time of 12.1" (PDQ).

But enough with the Caterhams, how about the other LISS's?

I worked that test (see photos I posted in the best photo thread) and that car would have been even faster but the rev limiter was set too low on the car

Who will be the first seven to go sub 5 seconds to the century mark?

The fastest I have seen is the crazy turbo BEC seven in the UK that has run 9's in the quarter. It is for sale in the For Sale section.

I won't know how fast my car is until later this year. I rolled it out of the garage this morning to sweep under it. It took like 2 minutes :D.

I'll be happy with low - mid 10's with my current config (and new tires).

I have run at the local strip with Mojo when I first built it when it was NA. on street tires the best I ever got was 12.7 at 119mph. Wheel spin pretty bad thru first 2 gears. 60' times 2.5 indicating alot of wheel spin 119 trap speed indicates high 11 possibility with drag radials. Brian Anderson ran drag slicks at R&G 3 years ago with a stock s2k and ran 11.88 which I think is very good run nut much left in stock form.

Mojito should run mid 10s with proper tires. I have had several 10 second drag cars and my seat of the pants tells me Mojito has 10 sec possiblities.

We did do a 0-100-0 run with the Vortech unit on Mojo via a very unscientific method, speedometer and stop watch. It ran a 10.9- 11.2 range on street tires.

I was hoping to get Mojito to the drag strip this friday but Kevin has to take the car to TWS for a fri sat sunday test and tune session.

Mojo was only at the drags 1 time with the supercharger and I blew the rear end on the 1-2 shift and ran 14.59 coasting across the line.

This is the same guy (Loren) that has cut a perfect light many times.... I have never cut a perfect light. He tells me how but I have yet to do it.

As far as fast goes, At Road Atlanta last year Mojo sqeaked out just over 175 mph between turn 8 and turn 10a ,

She was quite motivated after being laughed at by a driver of a certian Porsche GT3 RS.... He didn't think she should

be in the class with the Porsches and Vettes. There was not much laughing going on in the porsche pits when we came back to the pits. He was only running 163 mph when we went around him....

He said she looked home made..... I said I prefer to call it hand crafted, He laughed....

I bet the next time he see's a 7 he thinks twice before he passes judgement.

Cheers

7evin

According to that, at 440 flywheel HP and 1900 lbs, I can run an ET of 9.48. I guess that's assuming I can hook it all up. I don't see that happening without drag slicks.

I must be dreaming / et 8.2 / 168 mph

7 sec SR20DET with a 2 liter motor
