"Hal still needs some help with his charging system. Can anyone post a diagram of a Ztec charging system?" - I started a separate thread in the General Tech section. :)

Don't worry - Al wouldn't own a less than perfect seven

wait - that didn't come out right - he is not selling this because it's not perfect

Seriously - you're getting a fantastic car. I just can't believe he's letting it go.

I had a great time at Carlisle and enjoyed putting faces to names. A great group of people. The ride up and back was fun too and I'm happy the weather held out on the way home.

who owns Steven Davies old Ultralite?

Loren,

I bought the car from Steve in Jan of last year. It's been a blast so far. I've met lots of fun people as a result.

That was the first Ultralite I ever sat in. I really like the color combo on that car.

Bob's turbo car is awesome!

I want to know where those headlight assemblies came from. Any info?

From the looks of those headlights I would say they came off a snow plow setup. Just my guess but I think they are Meyer Nite Laisers or something to that effect as I had considered something close to those when I built my 7.

Sorry to get in so late but got back to Alabama about 11 last night. I had a great time and we even had 5 Sevens in the tent on Friday when it rained all day. Saturday turned out wonderful. It was great to see everyone again, even if for a moment at a time. I was wearing 4 hats (club president, Carlisle judge, selling my Elan, museum rep) so next year I will lighten my load some. Speaking of next year Carlisle is May 15-17 so mark your calendars. I have worked out the tent for no charge next year (90% positive on that right now). --West coast guys get in touch we have to somesomething for you guys (Knott's Berry maybe?)--

Guess I am a wuss drove 1700 miles over 5 days to goto Carlisle and only put 1 mile on the 7 in that entire time.....

Sorry for not replying sooner. Thanks for everyone who lent a hand Saturday with my car. The Lotus crowd has always been a great bunch, and the USA7s gang continues in that same tradition.

...and a special thanks to Harold for picking a stranger up with his trailer.

Cheers-

Dermot.

Dermot, let me assure you that the pleasure was all mine! To tow a Fisher Fury is a very rare occurence, considering how reliable British cars are! ;)

Sorry that I wasn't able to talk to the driver of this Stalker, but I watched a few runs and a Lotus Elise had a time of around 79 seconds (+ penalties) and then this Stalker ran and had a time of around 71-72 seconds which I think was the FTD up to that point. Does anyone have any info on the driver (Justin Sims maybe?) and the final results for the autocross?

That is Justin in the very first Stalker Dennis ever built. It started out with a 2.8L S10 motor, then converted to a 3.4L Camero motor and now has a 3.8L normally aspirated Pontiac.

That car has earned FTDs with every engine combination that Dennis and Justin have thrown at it. We call it the "Mule".

Justin decided to bring it to Carlisle at the last minute because a potential customer wanted to see one in person. I think it is the first time Justin had ever run that course.

dang! im really sorry i missed this meet. we should have a 7's only meet up on Sunday at the warminster auto cross. on a normal Sunday there is usually 3 7's anyway, we could def have a race, cruse and dinner type of thing.

jwduncan, can you put up some pics of your car?

I talked with Justin on Friday and yes first time on the course and I think he sort of said the first time he really saw the course. I am glad to see them selling so many cars as I am sure they will be adding wing to thier home for all the FTD awards they have.

Evil post your idea to the Northeast or Mid-atlantic threads I am sure you will get some response. maybe you can get some of the DC autoxers up that way for the day.
