Se7en Beats Ferrari @ R.A.

Recommended Posts

Well kind of anyway. At least for the lineup for the track tour at Elkhart Lake, my Seven was a "nose" ahead of this gorgeous Ferrari. Not an affectionado so couldn't tell you the model Ferrari but I could tell is was mucho expensive. And I did get a nice complement from the driver about my Seven. Nice guy! Track photos of my car at speed due to show up soon on the internet. I'll post a link when they're available.

Cheers!

"Looks like a late 60's Dino" - I'm not familiar with that model, but I think being front engined it'd be from the late 50's.

Looking good Steve!

That is a Ferrari TR60. Phil Hill won Le Mans in TR60 #9, so assuming that number on the hood isn't just a tribute, that is a very special car!

And by the way, TR == Testa rossa

Very nice car indeed

I think I was wrong and Steve is right, Dino 196S. The car is left hand drive, and I seem to recall that all the TR59/60s were right hand drive (of course Ferrari of that era was anything but consistent). The dead give-away of course is the number of velocity stacks showing through the hood scoop. Do you recall if it was 6 or 12?

I would put serious money on that being a replica.

There are some amazing Ferrari replicas out there, some of them even officially sanctioned by the factory, like this one here that belongs to a mate of mine in England - has full FIA racing papers from 1964.
