Al N.
As noted on the housing thread, we have selected Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in OK as the venue for the Track Day of the 2009 USA7s National Meet — JULY 2, 2009. www.hallettracing.net There aren't many suitable facilities close to Branson, and the other option was equidistant to the East. I think a few USA7ers have driven Hallett and apparently it's supposed to be great. People who intend to track their car may want to book a hotel either in Hallett for the night of July 2 or somewhere on the way home from Hallett — as our host facility in Branson may not make sense (especially if you're coming from a home in the West). Additionally, I wanted to share a few thoughts. We could get the entire track to ourselves for a day if enough people sign up. The current wisdom is to have a HPDE session in the AM, then run a Time Trial format in the afternoon. I think everyone would get plenty of seat time. Here's my only caveat/reservation...if we have 25 Se7ens, the cost is something like $195/car, including transponder rental. If we only get 10 people to participate, the cost per car shoots up to $430. We only had 7 firm "YES" votes in our poll, with 4 "STRONG INTEREST" votes. It is our hope that more people will commit to this part of the meet between now and June - and not have to resort to filling the trackday with non-Se7eners to make ends meet. While we will have an official e-commerce set up to reserve a spot at the track day, it might be a good idea if seriously interested parties chime in on this thread. P.S. THANKS TO LOREN E. AND JERRY E. FOR HELPING US EAST COASTERS SORT OUT THE TRACKDAY VENUE.

blami
Hi Al, Do we know if we will be running this circuit clockwise or counter-clockwise? Bart
Sevnn
I'm only a 2 hour drive away in Oklahoma City and will definitely be there in my Ultralite S2KR. As for the track direction, Hallett allowed a private group day I participated in to decide what direction we drove for each session. We chose counter-clockwise for most of the day with the last session in clockwise. It's a lot scarier track in clockwise as turn 1 (in counter-clockwise rotation) has no padded runoff in clockwise rotation. Hallett is a really great track and the Ariel group who met there last October was very pleased with the facility.

powderbrake
Put me in for the track day. I encourage all of you seveners who have not had your seven on a track to seriously consider signing up. This is a great opportunity to have as much fun as possible while wearing clothes. The HPDE ( High Performance Driving Event) format is one in which a group of cars with drivers of similar experience level are running around the track at their own comfort level, without a bunch of higher level drivers blasting around them, and without worrying about slowing up faster drivers. With an HPDE format, you can start off in a novice group and move up as your familiarity with the track increases. Another advantage of this track day is the presence of many very accomplished drivers. I am sure they will give you advice on tire pressures, what line to take around the course, and any other info you will want. This is a unique opportunity for a first time "track day" with the brotherhood of sevens, so do yourself a favor, and sign up. Perhaps we can get one of the Hallet experienced drivers to lead some slow speed laps on the "proper line" to show us all the right line to attack Hallet. bball7754
There is a small possibility that I will have a scheduling/priority conflict, but if not I will definitely be at the track day. Ran at Hallett last year, and it's a great track for the Seven. Steve St. Louis
