Andrew
"Original Lotus 7’s are approaching $100,000, Caterhams are selling in the min 50’s range" seems a very optimistic statement!

11Budlite
Looks like it's up for sale again: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-Lotus-Clone-Westfield-SPa-1600_W0QQitemZ230406604681QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item35a54dc789
JohnCh
I like the reason given for why the second owner wanted out of the car: E-bay watchers might notice that we have already sold this car several times on e-bay. The first buyer simply could not fit into the cockpit. (length is not a problem, however seats are narrow). The second buyer expected a soft, quiet, smooth car. I'm not sure how anyone could ever confuse a car with no doors for one that is soft, quiet, or smooth. :jester: -John
scannon
The ad has a picture of a six cylinder Jaguar twin cam engine just before the picture of a Ford pushrod engine. The twin cam looks like it might be in an E type. Maybe they are offering a Jag six as an option for the Westfield. supersportsp
This car has been on Ebay about every 3-4 months for the last year an a half now. As far as I recall, it has never met reserve and actually been sold. I watched it closely every time it came up. So, their talk about Ebay sales falling through is more dealership fallacy. GustoEater
Anyone have any thoughts on the price of this car at the $17,000 asking price? Does that seem at all reasonable?
scannon
Since basic Miata based Westfield kits start around $14k without engine, trans, diff and the other Miata based parts as well as any accessories, I would think a completed, sorted car at $17k would be reasonable. Since it didn't sell, offer them $15k and see where it goes from there.
