Sean Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 The Top Gear episode with the new R500 is scheduled to air on BBC America at 8:00 p.m. PDT on Monday, March 16th. Not sure about other time zones, but wherever you are, it should be on at the usual time.
MNlotus Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 they already have some clips of it on you tube. it beats the veyron around the track
jlumba81 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 If that is the episode about the TopGear car of the year award they have a link to it on the front page of the CaterhamUsa website. http://www.uscaterham.com
KStier Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I read (I think) in Automobile magazine that Tanner Foust was supposed to be one of the hosts.
TheDingo8MyBaby Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I hate to be the bearer of bad news... http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/clarkson-top-gear-usa-canned-viewers-just-dont-get-it/ The hosts were adam carolla and tanner foust. I had a couple friends that went to the pilot taping. They said it was "ok."
xflow7 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I hate to be the bearer of bad news... http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/06/clarkson-top-gear-usa-canned-viewers-just-dont-get-it/ The hosts were adam carolla and tanner foust. I had a couple friends that went to the pilot taping. They said it was "ok." Wow. It amazes me sometimes who they get for these transplant shows and then are suprised when they don't work out. Adam Carolla and Tanner Foust hardly strike me as the right crew for that kind of show. My choice for a US Top Gear that I think would have worked would have been: Jay Leno: Long shot to get him, of course, but he is leaving the Tonight Show and I bet he'd have had a ball doing it. Tommy Kendall: A loveable motoring smartass if ever there was one. You get a hint of it from Test Drive, but that show is too much of an advertisement for his real personality to come out. Only known by hard core race fans, but I'd wager he'd rapidly earn the fandom of general car nuts on that kind of show. Tim Allen: Hasn't been in the spotlight for a long time, but a familiar face to many who probably would have had a lot of fun with it. Okay, since Leno would be majorly unlikely, you'd probably want your third to be a quasi-straight-man like James May on the Brit version.

scannon Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 With a warm day and warm tires it just might have topped the board. It only needed to pick up .8 sec to tie the Gumpert. Skip
Mondo Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I wish I was half as good at drifting a car out like that... awesome!
MoPho Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I was at the USA Top Gear taping and it was really awesome, it is a shame it got dropped. While I was not a fan of Adam Carolla, he was fantastic, and the other guys were pretty good too
