scannon Posted April 24, 2009 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Several of our Miata club outings have resulted in a cop finding us pulled over for a break and gathering the 40 or so people together and chewing our asses because some of us (no, no, not me, never me) passed an old lady with a cell phone and she called it in. MHKflyer52 Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Having lived in Newberg Or. for 15yrs I know that section of highway 18 just west of McMinville Or. and it is the only section of the highway that is four lanes wide on that highway and is know as a speed trap so I do not feel bad and they most likely blew thorugh Dayton Or. and did not even realize it........ slomove Posted April 25, 2009 Share Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) I heard a rumor about a group of six Se7en drivers who got pulled over by CHP in one batch for passing on double yellow only based on the ridiculous account of a witness (the passed truck driver) and "citizen's arrest", that means the officer was not present at the time of the alleged offense. All drivers contested their ticket by written declaration court trial and still lost. That is of course just an unsubstantiated rumor and I am pretty sure it never happened last September in Northern California on Hwy299......
