Storage

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas or links to places that sell storage for a caterham? Looking for something small for inside the car to hold papers and what not as well as something to hold luggage. Any ideas?

I use a Ziploc bag for papers such as registration and keep it under the car seat cover so it does not blow away while driving...as for luggage...big plastic trash bags work well to help reduce the amount of water / dirt that one might encounter while on a road trip I would guess.

I just use the bags you get from oversea flights that have the velcro ties, and store small stuff under the seats. I also have a mid-size spring type paper clip attached to the center screw on the shift booth ring, that I can use to clip a folded map or directions too. I made a small aluminum storage box with a sliding top that fits between the two seats on top of the tunnel. Used for holding a few papers and sun glasses, but a lot of times it gets used to hold a cold soda.

Soft Bits For Se7ens in the UK sells a bag for the trans tunnel. For my car, I made an aluminum box that sits in front of the gear lever. The lid is upholstered in the same material as the dash and trans cover and blends in which adds a measure of security. The pics below show it from the side and with the lid opened.

For luggage, some people use dry bags made for kayaking and strap those to the roll bars. When touring, I’ve found that packing clothes in space saver travel bags allows us to store a lot of clothing in the boot. I throw those into duffle bag to transport them to and from the hotel.

Hi Jen,

I have a Soft Bits for Sevens tunnel bag and love it. I also have their wind deflector which has built in storage. Happy to show you and Jack when I see you on June 13 for the Milford Sevens run. :)

cheers

Hi Mike

Yea, I looked on their site and saw a few great things for the car. Jack saw your tunnel bag and thought that was a great thing. I really liked their RE-bag. We shall see what we end up with. See you next week.
