Kitcat
I really wonder if it would be possible to climb it on foot-it's that steep.
yellowss7
My cousin had a old Range Rover that he took to a dealer sponsored event in the Pine Barrens. There were over 40+ participants, doing the off road thing. We went up and down several very steep Rises (for NJ) with leaders lining you up and coaching you at the top. Pretty scary as going up you can't see any thing but sky due to the incline, Going down was no picknick either. Then they took us through a lake, I was driving when the guy in the Defender in front of us went down up to to the top of his doors. The guy at the other end of the lake was waving frantically to get us to move to the right. Apparently there was a steep dropoff on the left. We all made it through though, even the Defender. Pretty stout vehicles. Tom
Kitcat
Top of his doors? Or Bottom? If top, what was the engine doing for O-2?
yellowss7
To the window level. It was pretty quick, he was driving along fine, then whoops, his front end went deep, He kept on the thottle and kept going. I on the otherhand stopped dead in the water, Pun intended, as It wasn't even my car. Steered right and we only went up to the bumpers. Don't remember if he had a snorkel on the Defender, but I remember them opening the doors and letting alot of water out when we caught up to them. Mondo
I thought I saw the back wheels come off the ground a bit on one of those stops going down hill... better him than me;)
Croc
Going down it sounded like he locked the wheels at one point. I am sort of surprised he did not slide all the way to the bottom. When I did my off roading course I was told to let the wheels roll and creep down in low but never brake because once you lock the wheels you were likely to just slide and never regain tire traction. slngsht
scary ... especially with children playing at the bottom .. need something to cushion the fall. rolling over and hitting solid ground on the bottom is not good for the paint job.
